Window AC units

Came across an article talking about how these develop mold over time and they need to be cleaned or thrown out. We use several window AC units that we’ve had for a few years now. I tried to disassemble one years ago and broke it so I’m not sure opening it up and cleaning them is an option. Is mold really a concern with these things if they look relatively fine and the air coming from it smells fine?

I’m in New England.

Single rectifier reverb

Just to practice I’m a total noob when it comes to tube amps.

I recently picked up a single rectifier combo, which I absolutely love. The only thing that I wish could be better is the spring reverb. It is kind of lacking compared to the reverb in my fender super reverb. I know that both have real spring Reverb tanks so is it possible to somehow get the Reverb in the Mesa boogie to sound closer to the fender?

Seymour Duncan 69/Custom hybrid

Considering this for an HSS setup. Anyone use this pickup and if so thoughts on it for HSS? Ideas for matching single coils? Kind of want something that can do the most styles possible in one pickup.

First Mesa Boogie amp

I’m loving it! If it powers up fine and whatnot is replacing the tubes going to make it sound any better if the current ones are “fine” but probably fairly used?

Recommendations for bridge humbucker

HSS Strat currently with Suhr V70s and a Wolfetone Dr. Vintage in the bridge. I’m feeling like the wolfetone doesn’t have enough punch for me, but not interested in something super hot like a JB which I have in another guitar currently. V70s also sound kind of 50s like to my ear so want something to jive enough with them. Suggestions??

Mesa rectifier effects loop

Just picked up a Single Rectoverb combo 50 watt and I’m seeing online that the parallel effects loop should be upgraded to series? Why? Is that necessary? Will running it stock parallel sound bad?

All around head advice

Looking at a Marshall DSL100HR for $600, I’m pairing it with a Marshall MF400 cab with Celestion G12-K100 speakers.

I already have a Fender Super Reverb for cleans. Looking for a kind of good all around head as I play kind of everything. Something with decent cleans still but can maybe even go into high gain territory. Suggestions? Thoughts?

GLP1 and sleep apnea

I’m super frustrated and just felt like I needed a place to vent. I was diagnosed with moderate to severe OSA six months ago and have begun using a CPAP. My ENT also suggested that I utilize a GLP one medication to treat my sleep apnea so I called my insurance and they informed me that they would cover Zepbound provided. I had moderate to severe OSA.

They said they wouldn’t prescribe it. I needed my PCP to. I made an appointment and got a prescription for Zepbound for my PCP. I submitted a prior authorization of my insurance and wouldn’t you know what they denied it I called my insurance and they said it’s because I don’t have an AHI of 15 or more which they previously never mentioned I have an AHI of 11.

I let them know that my sleep doctor still provided his diagnosis of moderate to severe OSA and they said I would need to appeal the decision and obtain a letter from my sleep doctor stating that he believes I still have moderate to severe OSA despite my AHI. I called my sleep doctor to get the letter and he hits me with that. He doesn’t believe in GLP one medication‘s to treat sleep apnea, even though FDA approved them because they technically “don’t treat sleep apnea and only treat weight” and “have been shown to cause cancer” which I’ve never heard before my PCP disagrees with.

I asked for a study or some source where he’s getting the cancer association from and he said he would send one but so far haven’t received anything. I’m wondering why he’s so against it when FDA approved it and if anyone’s run into anything similar because honestly, it’s super defeating and frustrating to know that an approved medication is being withheld for me that could potentially help me get off a CPAP someday.

EDIT my doc finally responded that he diagnosed with moderate to severe OSA because my RDI was 22/hour and “RDI is a more accurate measure of OSA than AHI”.

Shabat update

Thanks to some comments here I ended up going with the Shabat Lion JD over the LsL Badbone. I’m so glad I did. The LsL was great like honestly I’d recommend it but the Shabat is perfect. It’s frankly impeccable. It’s the best guitar I’ve ever played, better than custom shop Gibson, fender, etc. highly recommend and had to share. Relic is tasteful, neck is perfect, Lollars sound amazing.

Shabat Lion JD vs LsL Badbone 2

Can get both of these guitars $300 apart (LsL is cheaper). Shabat comes with case, LsL with gig bag. Have been looking for an HH Tele style for a while, thoughts? I can’t play either before I go to actually buy them.

Other S style guitars

LSL, Grosh, K Line, Suhr etc just wondering your thoughts. Not trying to start another fender debate but wondering what you all think about these boutique builders do they vary in quality? Seems like prices are similar, why go with one vs another?

Bridge humbucker recommendations

Have a Suhr Classic S with the V70 pickups in the neck and middle and want to add a humbucker in the bridge to compliment them. Not a fan of Strat bridge single coils. What are your recommendations?

I can’t believe how good this thing is

It’s almost unreal for the money. Feels and sounds like a Player II at least.

What is sprayers choice?

Recently bought a limited edition CE 22 that I guess has a “sprayers choice” back and neck paint job. I think it looks really cool and I can’t find another that looks like it. Is sprayers choice like one of a kind? Is it possible I have the only one with this particular color combo?

So I’m getting back into playing and recently got back my Marshall Mode Four 350 head and 400 cabinet. The head turns on but is slightly broken, the switch is kind of weird and it cuts out every now and again. I like the sounds it makes but I know it needs to be repaired. But after looking online, it seems like they’re not very valuable and the repair will most likely not make financial sense.

I like the cab a lot, and the speakers seem really awesome and heavy duty. Should I just try to sell the head and pair another one with it and if so, any suggestions for an amp pad that will do good cleans but also modern gain sounds? It’s mostly for jamming and basement practice not gonna be gigging with it.
