First-time sim rig, leaning Moza R5. Need some inputs.
Planning my first proper sim setup and would appreciate input from people who’ve actually bought and lived with this stuff in India, since most of what I found online is US/EU pricing and experience.
What I’m running:
- ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16, i9-11900H, RTX 3060 Laptop GPU, 16GB RAM
- Alienware 34 240Hz QD-OLED Gaming Monitor - AW3425DW
Games I care about:
Froza Horizon 6, F1, Assetto Corsa (mainly for the BMW mods), ACC.
Mostly paddle-shift GT/road cars, no serious drifting or rally plans right now.
Budget:
~₹55-75k for wheel + stand.
Prefer to buy once properly rather than upgrade in six months.
Where I’ve landed:
Moza R5 bundle (~₹53k) seems like the value pick. Direct drive at that price beats the G923’s gear-driven FFB, and the ecosystem means I can upgrade the base later and keep pedals/rim. G923 at ~₹40k is the fallback, and it does include a clutch pedal which the R5 doesn’t.
Questions:
1. Moza after-sales in India - this is my biggest worry. Anyone had to raise an RMA or warranty claim? How did it actually go, and how long did it take? This is the thing I genuinely can’t research.
2. Which retailer did you buy from? - I’ve seen Cosmic Byte, EliteHubs, Virtual Racing Hub and TheITGear all listing the R5 around ₹53k. Any good or bad experiences with packaging, dispatch time, or post-sale support?
3. R5 vs stretching to R9 - for someone who’ll do maybe 4-6 hours a week, is 5.5Nm enough or do people regret not going 9Nm? Trying to figure out if this is a real upgrade or just spec chasing.
4. Clutch + H-shifter - for those who bought the 2-pedal setup, did you end up adding the clutch and HGP later? Moza’s shifter is ~₹18k which is steep vs Logitech’s ~₹7.4k. Wondering if it’s a “you’ll want it eventually” thing or genuinely optional for GT/F1 racing.
5. Wheel stand - planning the NLR Wheel Stand Lite 2.0 so I don’t have to mount/unmount around work. Anyone using it with a Moza base? Any flex issues, or better options available here?
6. Anything India-specific I should watch for - Invoice for warranty, customs issues on Moza accessories ordered separately, service centre locations, anything that bit you that isn’t obvious from outside?
7. VR - Genuinely torn on this one. I’ve been told a 3060 Laptop isn’t enough for PCVR racing and I should skip it, but I’d like to hear from people who’ve actually tried rather than just spec comparisons.
Anyone running VR sim racing on a laptop 3060 or similar? Is it actually usable with DLSS/reprojection, or is it a blurry stuttery mess?
For someone mostly doing GT and road cars, is VR worth chasing at all, or is an ultra-wide screen sufficient.
How long did it take you to get used to it, if ever?
Happy to be told I’m wrong about any of this. Thanks in advance.
Edit - Added VR question (Point 7)
Am I the only one who thinks this tea arc is underrated?
Found this arc to be genuinely funny.
People who got married recently (in past 2-3 years), what was your actual wedding budget? Looking for real numbers.
I’m planning my wedding in the next couple of years and trying to build a realistic budget. Rather than Google estimates, I’d love to hear actual numbers from people who have recently gotten married.
If you’re comfortable sharing, could you please mention:
**Wedding Details -**
**1. Year of wedding**
**2. City/State (or destination wedding location)**
**3. Love or arranged marriage?** *(Optional, only because guest count and functions sometimes differ.)*
**4. How many events did you have?**
(Roka/Engagement, Tilak, Mehendi, Haldi, Sangeet, Wedding, Reception, Others)
**5. Approximate guests for each event?**
(Roka/Engagement, Tilak, Mehendi, Haldi, Sangeet, Wedding, Reception, Others)
**6. Total wedding cost? Major Expenses (Approximate breakup)**
(If possible, approximate spend on: Venue, Catering, Decoration, Photography/Videography, Hotels/Accommodation, Transportation, Jewellery, Clothes, Honeymoon, Miscellaneous)
**7. How was the cost split between both families?** (50-50, 70-30, etc.)
**Looking Back**
- What was the **single biggest unexpected expense?**
- Where do you think you **overspent?**
- What was **worth every rupee?**
- What would you do differently if you were planning your wedding again?
- **How much did your actual cost exceed (or stay within) your original budget?**
I’m not looking to judge whether someone spent ₹10 lakh or ₹1 crore. I’m just trying to understand what weddings are actually costing these days so I can plan my finances realistically.
*P.S. Before anyone says “this looks like AI” yes, I used ChatGPT to clean up the formatting. But I’m genuinely looking for real numbers from people who’ve gone through this.*

From a ₹3.5L CTC to paying ₹63L+ in annual income tax
My first CTC 7 years ago was ₹3.5L. Today, my annual income tax alone is around 18× that amount.
Full disclosure: Most of my compensation is in the form of RSUs (equity), which is why my income tax is unusually high.
Answering some common questions in advance:
- I work in the IT (cybersecurity) domain.
- No, I won’t be disclosing my company name.
Edit - This blew up way-way more than I anticipated. For those who have reached out to me in dm or have asked questions here in the comment section, allow me some time to respond. I have 100+ message requests.
Edit 2 - In case of it’s misleading, I just want to clarify. It’s not because of cybersecurity that I get paid this much. It’s the standard salary of my company.
Edit 3 -
- My company does not have any internship programs. So I can’t help with internship opportunities.
- They don’t hire freshers or people with less than 3 years of experience. So even if I provide a referral (by uploading resumes in company job portal), the resume will be auto rejected.
- For people with 3+ years of experience, I have exhausted the quota to provide referrals. I cannot upload any more resumes. Since the referrals are related to cash awards in case of successful joining, there is a limit for the referrals a person can give.
Hinjawadi vs Mahalunge for living with family
My sister’s family is shifting to Pune from Delhi. My brother-in-law’s office is in Hinjawadi Phase 1, and they’re looking to rent a semi-furnished 2BHK.
I initially suggested Balewadi and Wakad since I’m familiar with those areas, but rents there are a bit high for their budget of ₹25–27k.
They came across a few listings in Kolte Patil Life Republic (It’s in Phase 2 or 3, I think). Does anyone here have experience living there? How is the society, especially for a family?
As an alternative, I suggested Mahalunge. Which area would you recommend considering their budget and office location?
Any leads for a good semi-furnished 2BHK would also be greatly appreciated.
Tentative move-in date: Mid-August.
Biryani in Baner & Balewadi
I have had PK Biryani in Baner.
Any other good biryani places recommendations in Baner and Balewadi?
Any recommendations for good restaurants in Balewadi/Baner
Same as title.
Not a big fan of Asian food other than that everything works. Also I have tried most restaurants on Balewadi High Street.
