Either way, it looks great! The truck looks very well thought-out with its wheels, the perfect stance, the nice interior, and the chrome front bumper. What do you think?
Spent the day documenting some incredible builds at the Gilmore in the words of the owners. A '32 running a flathead on the salt flats is an absolute machine—hard to wrap your head around clearing 139+ mph with that setup. A flathead V12 with a Judson Supercharger and mild cam? I wish I could have captured the sound of it idling.
Hey GR, we’ve got a pickup soccer game going this Tuesday evening at Riverside Park!
If you’re free and want to get some touches in, you can RSVP here so we know who is coming
Hey everyone,
I wanted to share something I built to solve a pain point for those of us playing recreationally or trying to find last-minute subs for local leagues.
I got tired of chasing people through endless text threads, and honestly, forcing a casual player or a last-minute sub to download a heavy app or create a massive profile just to claim a open roster spot is a drag.
So I built https://kickup11.com . It’s entirely web-based, fast, and free.
You just drop in your game details, set a roster cap, set game format (3v3, 4v4, 11v11, etc) and it generates a clean shareable link. You can drop that link right here, in a group text, e-mails, or on Facebook. Players click it, type their name, and claim a spot instantly or you can choose to approve sub-requests. If the game fills up, it automatically handles the waitlist.
No paywalls, no corporate app bloat. Just trying to make organizing neighborhood runs or finding subs a little more frictionless.
Would love for some Chicago players to check it out and let me know what features you’d want to see added; especially if you organize a regular pickup game or league here, I'd love to hear what would make this actually useful for you.
Late notice, but trying to get a group together to play 3v3, 4v4, or any format for pickup soccer.

One of the things I hear over and over from people getting into soccer: actually finding a pickup game is weirdly hard, and showing up is intimidating — you don't know anyone, you don't know if it's your level, and you're not sure you'll even get enough players.
I'm building a free site to make that easier — especially for newer and casual players. The idea:
• See pickup games near you in one place, instead of digging through random Facebook groups
• See who's playing, the format, and the vibe before you commit, so you're not walking in blind
• One tap to say you're in, and it helps the group fill spots when someone drops — so games don't fall apart at the last minute
Being upfront: it's brand new, free, and I'm starting it in (Grand Rapids, MI), so it's early. I'm not selling anything — I genuinely want feedback on the concept from people who know the "where do I even find a game, and will I feel out of place" struggle.
Two questions:
(Happy to share the link — I'll drop it in a comment so this doesn't read like an ad.)
Hey GR — I have colleagues and family who play pickup, and they keep running into the same stuff: games buried across different Facebook groups, group texts just to figure out who's actually showing, and the last-minute scramble when someone bails and you're a man down.
So I figured it'd be a fun project to build a free site for it: kickup11.com. Nothing fancy — you can schedule your own pickup games, see the week's games in one place, tap "I'm in" so the roster stays current, and if someone drops, it helps you find a sub fast. Free for players (no $15-a-game stuff — hosts can just drop a Venmo link if they're splitting field fees).
Already have a game need to fill a spot? You can post a "need a sub" link and share it in any chat or text thread — it works even for games that aren't on the site, and you get to see who's asking and pick who's in.
Being upfront: it's brand new, I built it myself, and it's Grand Rapids–only right now. I'm not trying to sell anything — I genuinely want feedback before I tell more people about it.
Two things I'd love from you:
Tell me what's missing, tell me if it's pointless. All of it helps.
Hi everyone! This one is a head-scratcher for me.
I found this cool old Honda P50 with the engine integrated into the rear-hub. I had to have it! I've had numerous CT70s and various mopeds in the past that I've brought back to life. This one has an issue that I can't quite figure out...
Ignition coil wire was jerry-rigged together with a lot of bare wire exposed. However, it would still create spark with it in that state. I've used an old NGK spark plug wire splicing kit (not pictured). And that still allows for spark when flywheel is loose, but not when torqued.
Symptoms
So it seems odd, it is creating spark. But only when flywheel is lightly set on the crank and the nut is finger tightened. Once I torque the nut and it fully seats on the crank, it no longer creates apark.
What I’ve checked/tried:
I've considered adjusting the location of the coils on the stator, but they are fixed and don't allow for adjustment. I've also considered grinding down the mounting "guides" on the backside of the coil so that I can have some adjustment.
Has anyone seen this behavior on a P50 or similar Honda/moped?
If you solved this before: what part fixed it (condenser, coil, stator, wiring fix, re‑machine flywheel, etc.)?
