New Amendment of Romeo and Juliet Law

Personally, I think the law can never be completely fair to both sides. Nepal’s section 219 of Nepal’s National Penal Code treated every sexual act involving someone under 18 as statutory rape or sexual assault even if it was consensual and I understand why. It created a strong protective standard for minors and reinforced the idea that children belong in schools and safe environments, not in underage marriages or sexual relationships.

At the same time, i also acknowledge there have been genuine cases where consensual teenage relationships turned into criminal cases because of parental disapproval, caste/class issues, family pressure, or breakups. In some situations, the law ended up punishing close age peers the same way it punishes actual predators.

So i understand why reforms are being discussed. But i think the currently proposed 3 year proximity rule is too broad and risks demeaning the value of child protection laws.

An 18 yo legal adult (can be a college student) being exempt from full prosecution for involvement with a 15 yo simply because the age gap falls within a broad exemption is deeply concerning to me; a 15 yo does not have the cognitive or emotional maturity to navigate a relationship with a legal adult. Treating that as a "normal teen romance" is a massive step backward or a 13 yo with a 16 yo. They have different power dynamics and maturity. Even a 2–3 year age gap can involve major differences in maturity, power, and legal status.

If there is going to be any exception at all, i think it should remain extremely narrow:
• A strict one or two year in most, proximity cap, only for genuine developmental peers, The older partner shouldn’t be more than 2 years older than the younger partner.

• And a rigid floor age of 16, the younger partner must be 16 yo so that if the younger partner is 15 or below, absolute liability automatically applies regardless of the age gap.

Withput these guardrails, there is a real risk that communities misuse this amendment to normalize underage elopements and quietly undo decades of progress made in keeping girls in school and out of early relationships. The answer to flawed enforcement isn’t softer law but rather it’s better investigation and more careful prosecution.

Cute but notorious

A type of long horn beetle which bores woods and lays egg in the wood. If your furniture has tiny round holes and fine powdery dust coming out from it then the culprit is probably this guy :”).

Let’s not normalize this sick and creepy behaviour !?

I’ve been seeing a lot of posts like this for the past few months, in platforms like tiktok and Fb mostly. I only open them for like 6-7 mins ani tyo ni yesto dekhnu parchha. K ho yesto creep byahora!? Secretly Taking and Posting pictures of an unknown girl without consent. And also technically doxxing her by giving away the venue and names of her maybe relatives!? Are we really letting it be normalized? Cause i find this behaviour sick and creepy asf. If you don’t have the courage to confront her, don’t post stuff like this without her consent. Ewww kasto creepy, samjhidei siringa hune. Just imagine ki, you are in your own world, you’re enjoying, having fun or just sitting and some guy starts staring at you, starts to secretly photograph you, and proceeds to post it on the internet with your info.

The internet has made some people way too comfortable treating random girls like public entertainment. Not enough people realize that secretly photographing strangers and posting them publicly can actually put them at risk. Yesto lai chai report hannu parchha.

Prettiest thing i’ve came across in a while. Rainbow clouds spotted in Indonesia (A rare cloud iridescence)

The rainbow-like colours are formed when sunlight interacted with water droplets in the atmosphere from residual and nearby rainfall. The optical effect typically appears around cumulus clouds, creating striking colourful edges in the sky.

Let’s just appreciate the beauty of Mother Earth

Loving her since i stumbled upon her arts some years ago @Imagine

She’s Sneha Shrestha aka imagine. She’s a Nepali contemporary visual artist, street artist, educator, and arts administrator; who combines Nepali scripts, Sanskrit-inspired calligraphy, and graffiti art. What i love about her arts is, they’re so bold, vibrant and large and the scripts look like they’re flowing which feels alive; you’ll know what i meant once you look at her arts as well :”)

Another cool thing about her is that she started the Children's Art Museum of Nepal in 2013.

Your menstrual blood could grow a new heart

Many people see menstrual blood as something dirty or shameful, but science shows that it has incredible potential. Researchers have discovered that menstrual blood contains stem cells that may help repair damaged tissues and even contribute to growing organs such as the heart in the future. “Your menstrual blood could grow a new heart”. Even I was astonished and so fascinated while i was reading this. Stem cells which are found in our period blood are highly valued for their potential to repair damaged tissue and treat diseases such as cancer and heart failure. But they exist in low numbers throughout the body, and can be tricky to obtain, requiring surgical biopsy, or extracting bone marrow with a needle. Ted talk of Jiabao Li, the researcher. Now can’t see my menstrual blood the same way.

Instead of treating periods with disgust, people should understand that menstruation is a natural biological process with importance not only for reproduction, but also for scientific and medical advancement.

I still remember the Supreme Court of Nepal ruled that this tax should be removed. But it still hasn't been implemented and the 13% tax is still being charged.

Period pads are not luxury items. It’s not optional, i don’t purchase them for lifestyle choices, they are a basic necessity for us, people who menstruate every month. Imposing taxes on essential menstrual products places an unfair burden on those who have no choice in experiencing it. *Stop taxing menstrual products!*
They are essential, they are real, tbh they should be accessible and free.

Pls do support and fill the petition Chelis and Chelas or i can send you the direct petition.
If you think of yourself as an ally, pls support the petition.

Forced birth is a human rights violation, it is the denial of access to safe and legal abortion—constitutes a violation of fundamental human rights, the right to bodily autonomy. To compel someone to carry a pregnancy against their will is to exert control over their body, reducing them to a means rather than recognizing them as an autonomous individual.

Let us live. Let us live fully. Let us thrive and survive, give us back our bodily autonomy.
