If you make an ACH deposit from an external bank, Chime automatically pays off your MyPay balance with it. Absolutely unacceptable.
My $300 is gone. I know I can get another MyPay loan to replace it, but I'd either need to pay a fee or wait up to 24 hours for no fee. Even though I've had my direct deposit come on the same day and from the same company every week for over a year, Chime thinks a much smaller ACH deposit from a credit union is suddenly my new paycheck. Both an agent and a supervisor told me "tough luck try just depositing cash next time" because the system can't differentiate a bank transfer and a direct deposit. I work at a competitor of Chime's and we absolutely can see if an ACH deposit is from an employer payroll or a bank. Anyway, I'm going to stick to using my other bank for ACH deposits from now on since I can't risk Chime grabbing my money before it's due.
