Splurged and got finals track &field tickets for me and my dad :)

My dad’s a football and track and field high school coach and wanted badly to go to the LA coliseum! We got some rugby prelim tickets on the last drop since my boyfriend’s a rugby player.

But I felt like it was a once in a lifetime opportunity to do finals with my dad! And I guess at least we have good seats even if they were 2k each lmao. So excited

33F- it was a winding road to get here

Jumped degrees several times but I feel satisfied with where I’m at now.

If you would have told myself in early college I’d end up in finance- I’d never have believed you. I looked down on business majors because it wasn’t science. Little did I know how inflexible academia and research would be.

Working in finance, especially working from home has given me so much more time to dedicate to my personal life. And I actually really enjoy learning something that is practical and can help me and my family. And enjoy helping clients with their own lives.

I could stand to make more especially in California, but the benefits are nice and I get a decent 401k match + profit sharing that has allowed me to invest more heavily than I would have ever imagined

Started HRT patch, only slept 2 hrs last night. Help?

In perimenopause. Originally I was on BC 20mcg EE+ norethindrone had anxiety, fatigue, depression. Went up to 35 mcg and those symptoms improved. I started having issues with insomnia. Added 100mg of microionized progesterone and it did help. But I was having 4/5am wake ups where I’d feel wired.

Just tried getting on the .05 patch + mini pill for BC + 100mg progesterone. Could tell it was way too low and only slept 2 hrs. Couldn’t fall asleep until 6am.

I increased to .075mg early this morning but I’m still feeling wired. I want to try to give it a few more days so I took the rest of the week off. But I do have to work eventually lol. I’m concerned that the continuous estrogen might be causing the wakefulness. I know that’s an issue for some people.

I want to have a safe plan B in case the patch isn’t working out. Saw meno NP today and they didn’t want me taking the synthetic progestin + prometrium. But I had 0 issues with it when I was on the combo BC. And I’ve seen plenty of others prescribed both without issue.

-Not sure if I should try to go back on BC and try a different progesterone BC at 30mcg estrogen and just accept early morning wakeups .
-Or if I should drop the synthetic progestin and try to have a normal cycle.
My issue with a normal cycle would be that I used to have severe insomnia while ovulating and severe PMDD. While the extra estrogen would help the PMDD, I fear it may make the insomnia worse.
Secondly, I got back on BC because I was so unstable on my normal cycle. I’m worried about the dramatic changes it would cause and the can of worms it may open to get off BC. And how hard it’d be to go back on.

I feel like my medical providers aren’t taking my sensitivity to changes seriously and are asking me to change dramatic things and it’s just made things worse. I’m hesitant to dramatically change more. I don’t want to lose my job. And last night I very nearly didn’t sleep at all

Joining the strong nose appreciation :)

Grew up insecure about my nose because I was teased. Learning to appreciate the nose my momma gave me :)

Insanely underappreciated- how have more people not told me about Sugar Apple Fairy Tale?

I thought it was just a cutesy shojo fantasy romance.

I was not expecting it to get so dark or have such intense fight scenes. The world building was fantastic. Definitely gave me Yona of the Dawn manga vibes. I only wish there was a second season! But I'm grateful it was 24 episodes at least.

Moving from combo BC to patch + slynd for peri. What was your dosage then, and what is it now?

On the combo pill I needed 30 mcg of Ethinyl Estrodial. Trying to figure out what dosage of patch I'd need. I'm seeing lots of conflicting advice online. Based on an equivalent dosage- that would be .75 mcg of estrogen patch. But that's a super high dose.

What were you on and what are you on now?

Black corseted/ milkmaid maxi dress

I want to find a dress like this that’s actually good quality and for the summer. I’d like for it to lace up in the back and front.
I got a really great one from forestinkclothing but it’s actually way too heavy for summer and better suited for fall.

Boo is 8 months old and getting so big!!

8 months, 5 months, 4 months, 3 months

She’s just as cuddly as when we got her. She is also a menace to society.

Her favorite toys are paper bags and her favorite sleeping position is not a loaf, but a splat. Belly up and spread out lol.

Blonde fox hair from black and green!

I’ll be trying out orange fox hair and then red fox hair next!

UPDATE: Hair advice from black and green to blonde fox hair!

Thanks for all the feedback I got idk like 4 months ago? The gameplan is blonde fox hair now, orange fox hair in fall, and then red fox hair in winter!

One of the hair stylists told me I look like a goth fairy princess and I think that’s all I’ve ever wanted to be haha.

I’ll post the other two hairs as it progresses :)
