What should I buy (basics aswell as specific for this course)
Tips for the actual course- exams, coursework etc

And obviously any other useful information that you wished you had known

Resources to help manage/improve relationships

hello, my name is ruby and my dad has BPD— he’s 53 so he’s gone most of his life undiagnosed (got diagnosed at 50) and therefore doesn’t have any strategies to cope with it. My dad, like many others, struggles with his temper— so much so that over the last 3 days my mother had to call the police to have him removed from the home as he refused to leave. He doesn’t realise how he talks to people— oftentimes he’ll speak in an aggressive way when not even meaning to, then causing arguments and disputes in the home which isn’t good for anyone (we have 2 severely autistic children who don’t cope well with arguing) I’m asking for help as he’s gutted that he’s had to leave my mum (his wife) and the home— he’s under no circumstances allowed back in the house and no relationship with my mum until he’s sorted himself out. Hes not really the therapy type, he didn’t even believe in mental illnesses and disorders until he himself was diagnosed and he actually seen that they were real. So not really looking for therapy recommendations as he either wouldn’t attend or it would go in one ear and out the other. I’m more looking for websites/forums that have coping strategies that I can forward to him because he does want to change his behaviour as it’s tearing his family apart.

BSL vs Makaton

Hello, my name is Ruby, i’m 17 and i’m looking to learn BSL. Recently my family took in 2 6 year old nonverbal autistic children— one of who we think has hearing difficulties. Due to them both being nonverbal I want to learn BSL to help communicate with them better, furthermore i’m going into a career of nursing and it’s a good skill to have to make interactions easier with deaf/hard of hearing people. My question is due to their age would it be better to learn makaton first— a ‘simpler’ version of sign or go fully in with sign. My thought process would be speaking as I sign so they pick up on what i’m communicating— one of them, the girl, has started doing the sign for ipad after I repeatedly signed it and said ipad. I’ve been using lingvano to learn the basics of simple signs and sentence structure. But due to their age and cognitive ability I don’t want to overwhelm them but I can see that they’re frustrated in not being able to communicate what they want, whether they’re hungry, thirsty or in pain, getting to the extreme of harming themselves because of how frustrated they are that they can’t communicate with

[TOMT] Male tiktok creator

Okay, i’ve been looking for a tiktok creator for the last few weeks on/off, I watched him around 2021-2024 but he went on semi-hiatus throughout due to contracting long covid and getting quite sick. He spoke a lot about children’s rights, education and safeguarding. I might be mis remembering but i’m sure he had the word ‘cookie’ in his username. If anyone knows who he is it’d be great because I used to follow him and really enjoyed his content until my account got removed and I couldn’t find him again

Period problems

Hello! I’m 16, 17 this year and a big fat virgin so that cancels out pregnancy. Anyway, I haven’t had a period since the start of November— which I remember because it was my birthday lol. That makes it \~7 months since my last one. My periods fluctuate, I got my first one when I was 11 and then didn’t get another for 2 years. Then I had one that lasted 8 months. I’ve been to the doctor 3 times over the last 2 years, they always say ‘loose weight’ or ‘it’s your hormones’ or ‘it’s just stress’. I’ve never been on the pill but i’m seriously looking into the 21 day oestrogen and progesterone pill to try and even out my hormones. My family has a history of PCOS (or whatever it’s being called now) but i’ve never been tested and my doctors are reluctant to test. Has anyone experienced similar periods/any advice? I’m going to the doctor again next week so I just want to know from anyone who has been on the pill under the same circumstances because honestly i’m so lost.

I love them with my whole heart, they’re foster children but direct family but it’s so hard. I haven’t slept in 3 days because they don’t stop screaming until 4 in the morning and when I finally get half an hour of peace they’re up again refreshed and ready for the day. I’m actually anxious to wake up every morning because I know what’s in store. I’ve been bit, i’ve had my hair ripped out, my nipples twisted and pulled and I feel like I can’t say anything because we took them on well I didn’t even take them on my mum did who I live with. I’m so sick of the constant spitting and having to watch them constantly whilst my parents are smoking i’m sick of the boy eating dirt and sand and paint from the walls and i’m sick of the girls meltdowns and seeing her hurt herself i’m sick of them throwing things and breaking my electronics (my laptops screen has been smashed) and i’m sick of my mum not giving any punishment
