I fell asleep while sitting on a chair this morning with my head resting on the table. My feet were on the floor the whole time. I'm in mandi
This morning, I noticed this black snake inside my room. I don't remember seeing it before I fell asleep, and I don't remember being bitten. I currently have no pain or symptoms, although I noticed a small single mark on my foot and I'm not sure if it's old or new.
Does this snake look like a Common Krait? If it is, how concerned should I be about a possible bite while I was sleeping?
I know no one can diagnose a bite online, but I'd appreciate your opinion on the snake's identification and whether I should get checked at a hospital even though I don't have any symptoms. Because the nearest hospital is almost 1 hour drive from my place.
UPDATE: I just came back after seeing a doctor. They examined me thoroughly and couldn't find any bite marks or signs of a snake bite anywhere. The doctor also explained that if a snake had actually bitten me, one of the first things they would expect is bleeding from the bite site that doesn't stop quickly. They also said that since the snake was potentially so venomous, I most likely wouldn't still be sitting there in front of them without having developed significant symptoms by now. That made me feel much more relieved. Going to the hospital was definitely the right decision. I'm not from Himachal Pradesh I was recently transferred here, so I wasn't sure whether this area has many highly venomous snakes or not. That's why I made this post. Thank you all so much for your help, advice and support. It really means a lot.
These kinda videos sometimes just vanish from the internet, so thought I'd share it here. Sorry for the bad quality, it was the highest I could find
