I have to conduct a market research where I have to visit certain stores that sell products online and then understand some of their processes.

I have the stores that I want to visit/contact but I do not know how to approach without them ghosting me.

People who have done similar surveys, how did you approach them and convince them to give some of their time. I can try cold messaging but I feel it would get ignored easily.

Etsy just announced the next Etsy Design Award, kicking off August 3rd. It's their event recognizing sellers who've put serious craft into their shop, branding, photography, product design, the whole presentation. First place gets $25,000.

I run two Etsy shops and I'm planning to enter both. Curious if anyone else here is going for it this year, what are you focusing on to get your shop ready? Happy to compare notes on photos, listing copy, branding, whatever people are working on. Drop a comment if you're in, would be great to have a thread going with people prepping at the same time.

I’m not a big fan of gimmicks. I’m more into close up magic and hence a great admirer of sleight of hand. I’m into card magic mostly. Double lift is the first technique that got me the most amazing reactions. Recently stumbled upon Simon Coronels presentation and loved his sleight of hand.

This thought sometimes gets stuck in my mind before building and somewhat causes some decision fatigue.

For setting up payments for US from India, I’m thinking of integrating with Paypal for Paypal customers and razorpay international for credit card transactions.

Did anyone try this ? How’s it going for you ?

Does anyone know who constitutes shopify the most ? Dropshippers or D2C merchants.

The dropshippers volume might be volatile since most of them would drop off after few months.

I feel D2C merchants constitute the most or at least to the stable revenue part since they would be the ones staying the long term.

What do you think ? Any other views ?

Does anyone here have store setup in US from other country? I have few questions around setting up payments.

For getting a US bank account as a non resident, we need to register an offshore company and then get a bank account and setup payments.

But this process is somewhat tedious and has multiple touchpoints and might require third party service providers to do it for us and are charging heavy amounts.

If you are someone who figured out this, Could you share how exactly you’ve approached this ?
