Anya was wrong about Desmond

I posted this the other day but was removed due to 24 hour rule. Reposting it.

“There is something so utterly frustrating about not being able to understand the thoughts of others”.

The key word here is understood. When I read this I thought it was a weird way to say he can’t read minds.

Something that seems to be shown about Desmond is that he thinks the only way he can understand people is if he could read their mind. He is incapable of understanding people, their emotions, who they are and what they are trying to do because of his preconceived notions of people.

To him reading their mind maybe sounds like a foreign language because he is incapable of understanding people. He is hearing their thoughts it just doesn’t make sense. He understands his wife so he was able to hear her at one point but he probably freaked her out which is why she thinks he can read minds.

Why they were so good at bending without training.

They probably did train for it. Zaheer was a pretty powerful bender immediately after getting airbending because he already knew the forms, trained in their martial arts, it was effectively he practiced in a flight simulator before flying a real plane. It didn’t make him a full on master but gave him a huge starting off point.

The denied might have also done this in that their motivation was to become airbenders. They trained in airbending forms from scrolls or whatever resources they could find, and as a result were immediately capable of utilizing it. Plus that staff gave benders a lot of spiritual power and it probably just made them pretty powerful off the bat as a result.

[Mechanics question] contrary and moves with increased crit chances

So I saw on the champions subreddit someone complaining that there mega malamar was never getting critical hits on psyco cut. They said they did the attack a hundred times and was never getting a hit in game so I have a theory about contrary and moves that increase critical hits. Whether this is a bug in champions or how it always has been is the real question to me.

According to bulpaedia(not a source of truth) the way moves like this work is effectively applying a temporary 1 stage boost to critical hits chances for that turn and immediately dissipates. Could contrary instead of multiplying the chances for a critical hit on these types of moves divide it by 3 as opposed to multiplying it by three.

Based off of what the OP was saying this makes sense to me that champions is bugged unless that’s how contrary should be acting. But this sounds like Gen 1 with focus energy where it made crits less likely the next turn.

Edit:

To prove or disprove theory and the previous persons allegations I ran four games of malamar vs metagross.

Malamar had contrary in both forms.

In 48 turns I had 6 critical hits which on average is the 8 percent chance expected. Pretty on the nose. I also did matches as non mega and got 2 out of 12.

Season 3 idea. Mess with the actors

So season 1 was a hard concept but doable since faking jury duty is a choice.

Season 2 company retreat, maybe the person is catching on to the ridiculousness, oblivious to the insanity cause why would they expect.

But season 3 mess with the actors. They are all hired to do some weird stuff around this one person but instead of it being a random joe schmo off the street, they themselves are an actor hired to make the cast feel unease about the situation.

Skill improvement: 4th move for Bunnerary

I am playing around with a team focusing on Mega Bunny and am mixing it up a little bit. Right now it runs fake out, close combat, bullet punch, and triple axel. While triple axel is “ok” at times I’ve been burned by its inaccuracy more times than I care for. It’s also a big target for moves that will burn you from things like Macha Gatcha and wilowisp while doesn’t make it too crippled can definitely hinder it.

So I was thinking of dropping Triple axel(it’s rarely done what it really needs to) and either replacing it with either Facade(powerful normal stab which it lacks) or protect for its baiting purposes. I feel both could work well and it being a fast offensive team both can work since it’s often a target as a threat by burns and it might get people to waste attacks on it.

Its designation was changed in 2006 and while this isn’t the most important thing sometimes in the background they go over events in how they are different from our reality. Since we are in 2012 has this information been revealed.
