Dive watches look atrocious with suits. Conversely, dress watches go with anything.

Somewhere along the way people got the idea that dive watches were a perfect match with their suit. I don't know if this was the result of the Submariner infiltrating the general psyche as the ultimate grail watch or the conflation between luxury and dress and that just because a watch was "nice" that that automatically made it dress appropriate but it never looked right and I won't be convinced otherwise. I don't care how watches are priced or what people do or don't use their watches for in actuality but a dive watch at the end of the day is a rugged tool watch and looks completely out of place with a formal suit.

At the other end of the spectrum however, dress watches are almost too simple to mess up. Especially with a black strap and white dial, it's like the quintessential watch. Give a kid paper and crayons and ask them to draw a watch. Odds are it will look like a dress watch or something very similar. Throughout the mid 20th century when people didn't have watch collections and "gada" wasn't a thing, that one watch that people had and wore for everything was most often a dress watch. All the time I read people concerned with dress watches not going with their casual attire. Why doesn't it? With no polarizing colors or specialized design it's as universal as a black leather belt.

Which Genshin girls are most likely to have completely ungroomed carpeting?

Raiden, as a shut-in NEET, is the most obvious choice. Sucrose, Collei, and Layla, like other isolated autistic gooners don't even give it any consideration and probably smell too. Fischl misses the cut only because it would show with her outfit. Otherwise she wouldn't bother. I like to think Ineffa has an artificial turf for added realism with each hair painstakingly punched in by hand one at a time.

New Tissot addition. PR516

T149.407.11.041.00

Been hesitant to get this one because of how similar it looked to the T120.807.11.091.00 that I already have but finally decided to do so anyway and I'm glad I did. this one carries a whole different presence.

Luxury watches aren't THAT expensive.

Relatively speaking. If you compare them to the watch rack at Walmart, sure. But how many people will scoff at the idea of paying $10k for a watch then drive off in a $40k shit box with an additional $20k trim level and another $10k in packages and options on top of that that they are making four-figure payments on for 80 months? A $10k watch will long outlast anything sitting on a dealership lot today and still costs less than what you'll pay on that in just a few months. If you're a watch aficionado and aren't into new vehicles at all you're already lightyears ahead of the game. Compare luxury watches to any other hobby that revolves around a physical object and they really don't seem all that expensive anymore. And most of those people driving overpriced vehicles around aren't even into cars.

Hublot is actually alright.

A little overpriced? Sure, but only in the realm of $8k watches being acceptable in the first place. To someone not into luxury watches all your favorites are overpriced. You can hate on them for using Sellita movements but in the long run that gives you a much more pleasant service experience. Their haute horology contraptions are pretty cool. And if the big, loud, extravagant pieces aren't your thing personally (they admittedly aren't mine either), their more restrained models look pretty good. If you like one, don't let "Hublot bad" dissuade you.

Taking the new Luminor out on (and possibly in) the water.

Switched to the included rubber strap to go for a sail. I like the look and feel of gator the rest of the time but supplying an OEM rubber strap and being able to switch from deck watch to diver in twenty seconds is brilliant on a watch like this.

First Panerai - PAM01371

When I saw the white dial Luminor I became obsessed at first sight. I expect it to be a perfect nautical companion.
