STRENGTH/DURABILITY

It might be a surprise to many of you but Matt isn’t a normal man he’s the most powerful being in the verse but he purposely lowers his power to keep his human disguise believable

Matt is consistently shown being able to overpower the strongest foes in the verse
like when he boxed Silas the first ever immortal who was stronger than Klaus Mikaelson the original hybrid once stated to be the most powerful creature on earth or when he was channeled by Bonnie to defeat Cade and send the hellfire back to hell

Matt tanked a hit from Lucien Castle a character stronger than multiple original vampires and arguably the most powerful vampire in verse, he’s able to battle Elijah and Finn basically at the same time with no trouble at all and in a later episode he easily overpowers Klaus after that he effortlessly takes down at least a dozen Strix who are consistently compared to originals multiple statements saying they’re nearly as strong as one, Matt was hit by this beast and lived to tell about it, there wasn’t a single wound on his him, Meanwhile thousand year old vampires are bleeding from his attacks

In The Originals Season 2 Elijah blew up a house generating a ginormous explosion while he was still inside and it did nothing to him, Elijah tanked a massive explosion but is hurt by Lucien’s hits
Since we know Matt can tank Lucien’s hits we know he could tank that same explosion, He may even be invincible if he wasn’t constantly suppressing himself

SPEED

Matt is shown to be on par with even the fastest characters even being able to outpace Ethan who can teleport

MISCONCEPTIONS

Matt isn’t immortal he has the gilbert ring, you’re actually wrong about this, Matt got rid of that ring early on the ring he wears after is a family heirloom and nothing more

Matt died multiple times and is shown to be human he’s just lucky, he has never died and you’re falling for his tricks, luck is one of his many powers

Hope is a first born Mikaelson witch they possess devastating power, She has in universe and even writer statements confirming she’s the most powerful supernatural in the verse and unlike what many who try to lowball her will claim she has the feats to back up these claims as I’ve listed them here

Bonnie has in universe statements saying she’s the most powerful witch in the verse, However Hope is still stronger on top of her impressive magical prowess Hope has the blood of an original hybrid, his original vampire siblings her werewolf mother, the hollow and Esther who created the vampire species coursing through her veins

Papa Tunde and Finn were able to channel originals and become nearly unstoppable now that Hope is a tribrid she has access to this overwhelming power and could potentially channel her own magical reservoirs to grant herself even more power, but even before transition it’s likely she could do this

Witches can gain power boosts from anger Bonnie herself has done this a couple times, Hope is a werewolf a species known for their anger
If she gets pissed off her already high power would be boosted to even greater heights

Bonnie needed to use spirit magic, dark magic and expression to resurrect Jeremy a teenage boy and it killed her after, Hopes birth and a few other things but still it was mostly Hope was channeled by Davina to revive Mikael an a thousand year old original vampire so even as an infant Hope is more powerful

Hope was able to hurt Klaus and Elijah at only 15 and she’s only grown in power since in the same season she does this, She also kills dozens of vampires by shooting a wave of magic at them the. Hope is able to knockout four originals, Klaus, Elijah, Rebekah, Kol and Marcel who was stronger than Klaus and she was fine after, no fatigue, no nose bleeds, nothing taking down five ultra powerful vampires and being fine after is incredibly impressive
Could Hope kill an original with raw power alone? I think yes considering her birth was used in a spell to revive one and that she easily overpowers four of them and Marcel who was an upgraded original stronger than Klaus, This puts Hope on par with a hundred witches the same power Bonnie had when she could’ve killed Klaus on top of this Hopes power can be boosted by her anger and she could potentially channel her own original vampire blood to further boost her power on top of this

Bonnie at 17 was barely able to do anything to Klaus before her power was boosted by a hundred dead witches, which yes gave her the power to kill him but that doesn’t count since her power was boosted by outside forces, Bonnie doesn’t have any major fights with Klaus after. She traps him in a room which doesn’t confirm she could take him in a fight, Silas was stronger Klaus and Bonnie was able to turn him to stone the spell was tied to her life, She was only able to do this because she was using expression but after she came back she stopped using it and wouldn’t ever use it again
There’s zero evidence the heretics scale to original vampire levels or higher, they’re all very arrogant downright narcissistic so their claims that they’re the most powerful creatures on earth can be disregarded, Even with expression Hope solos

Bonnie destroying hell a feat that has a bunch of holes in it the longer you think of it but besides that let’s go with that she did, the hellfire coming out was stated to destroy mystic falls and I believe a few miles past it so for sake of simplicity I’ll say it’s city busting

However it’s important to remember although Bonnie was able to momentarily hold it off on her own she needed the help of basically her entire ancestry to send it back at best the feat scales Bonnie to town busting still very impressive, What I don’t understand is why people make it out to be her most impressive feat it’s not she has way more impressive feats

In Legacies Season 4 Alaric says Hope might be the most powerful supernatural to ever exist he knows Bonnie, he knew of Qetsiyah who created the Otherside and he knew of Cade the creator of Hell so this statement alone confirms she’s stronger than her and yes if you’re wondering this lines up perfectly with statements from the writers about Hope being the most powerful in the verse

STRENGTH/SPEED

Automatically goes to Hope without her magic Bonnie is just a human, She doesn’t have super strength or super speed

Hope is able to easily fight Aurora a character who is on par with an Original , Given dialogue from both Hope and Aurora, Hope is clearly the stronger of the two

Klaus has a feat where he dodges a point blank explosion giving him faster than sound reaction and movements speed it’s possible Hope could do this, Hope is a tribrid who is consistently compared to originals, Josie says she’s basically an original now and she fights Aurora who’s basically an original so she’s definitely on that level

INTELLIGENCE/KNOWLEDGE

Hope practiced magic with Freya who is a thousand years old, She passed her knowledge down to Hope, Hope has understood how magic operates and has even made her own spells and even before practicing with Freya she had a better understanding of magic than Bonnie did first starting out

In contrast Bonnie didn’t fully understand magic until 8x16 the series finale, Hopes understanding of how magic works is on par with people like Freya and Davina witches who fully understand the inner workings of magic, Bonnie didn’t get to this level of understanding until the end of the vampire diaries, Hope was there at 15 if not younger, her knowledge about it can only go up from here considering she’s immortal

Caroline even said Hope is too smart for her own good

EXPERIENCE

Bonnie takes experience she’s older than Hope and she’s fought against incredibly powerful foes like Klaus, Silas, Heretics and Cade although Hope has a better or on par understanding of magic than endgame Bonnie, Bonnie’s experience is better

Her control over magic is also better, We’ve seen magic explode out of Hope when her emotions overwhelm her, Early on Bonnie had poor magic control but she overcame it and yes Hope will objectively gain better control in time but as it stands right now Bonnie takes experience

BONNIE | DIMENSIONAL SCALING

Bonnie was able to create a dimension of unknown size after Enzo died by screaming regardless of its size or scale, This feat is an incredibly impressive and is definitely her best one

However the feat isn’t all that meaningful when you consider a dimension doesn’t define any specific amount of area and without statements we have nothing to conclude its size from and because of that the feat is meaningless

The dimension could be only as large as the immediate space around Bonnie, It could the size of a house, a city etc, we have no idea how big it is and because there’s no way to quantify the feat it doesn’t mean anything beyond being cool

but being cool doesn’t equate to being powerful
the better argument for Bonnie being dimensional is her creating a prison world with help, There’s reason to believe the sun at the very least is real as Bonnie a pretty intelligent character believed the sun in the 1994 prison world would kill Damon If it was just an illusion it couldn’t do this, The prison world Bonnie created in season 8 also has a sun, a moon and stars in its sky

If the prisons world sun isn’t real then Bonnie is creating a space as large as the Earth, If it is real and there’s reason to believe it is then Bonnie scales to star level if all the stars we see are real then Bonnie scales to universal but believing Bonnie is universal is crazy

HOPE | DIMENSIONAL SCALING

Hope with some help was able to create prison world, Now there’s a lot of debate of how big prison worlds are, I’ll lowball them first

Let’s say prison worlds are only as big as Earth and the sun or moon seen in the sky aren’t actually real, they’re merely images creating a planet sized pocket dimension is still impressive

But now to high ball their size, which is actually the better argument in my eyes in TVD season 6 while still in the 94 prison world after getting sick of Damon’s whining Bonnie tells him to take his ring off saying if ur life is this miserable why don’t u end it, She believes the sun there would kill Damon the same way the real sun would and Bonnie isn’t stupid so for her to believe this it must be true, If the prison worlds sun is real then it’s moon by logic must be real too and any stars in the sky, the closest star to earths sun proxima centuari is 4.25 light years away and is outside our solar system and other stars are even further than that

If the sun isn’t real Hope is planetary, If only the sun is real then Hope scales to star level if all the stars are real then Hope scales to universal
Hope is the most powerful witch in any given room so it makes sense for her to be doing the heavy lifting same logic applies to Bonnie

Yes Bonnie in season 8 with help created a prison world too, So yes this potential star level or beyond scaling would apply to her too

HOPE | UNIVERSAL SCALING

There are many statements basically confirming the Malivore dimension is infinite in scale, It’s called eternal, endless so that’s just fact, Here’s why Hope might be universal as established the dimension inside Malivore is infinite, Hope later destroys him and the dimension or more accurately described universe that’s inside him
you must have infinite power to destroy a space of infinite size no matter what its contents are, its math

Now someone could argue that it was Hopes blood that killed him this is true however it doesn’t contradict the scaling it only means Hope has to channel her blood to gain infinite magic
Even if we argue it’s because her blood is a loophole this would still scale past infinity because her blood can just bypass an infinite dimension and she could still channel it, the only thing that can bypass infinity is another higher infinity

There’s no reason to believe the statements about the malivore dimension are exaggerated or false
there’s nothing contradicting them and similar statements were never made for smaller dimensions, no one ever claimed any prison world is endless these statements are exclusive to the malivore dimension and because there’s nothing contradicting it and the characters don’t have any history of using similar term to describe dimensions that turned out smaller, we have no reason beyond personal preference to believe they aren’t true

OVERALL

There’s a massive difference in power between them, Hope Mikaelson takes magic, strength, speed and knowledge giving her an easy victory over Bonnie Bennett the fight isn’t even close, Bonnie simply doesn’t have the feats or statements to back up her even a standing a chance a against Hope even Bonnie at her strongest which many say is her using expression falls to Hope Mikaelson

Hope Mikaelson without universal scaling wins low difficulty due to her massive strength and speed advantage, her better understanding of magic or at least on par and her potential ability to channel her own vampire blood and be boosted by her anger
