SOTD - Monday Evening - 08/06/26

Razor : Yaqi Scalloped Head + Pearl Fatty Handle - This head blew me away. At first the blade exposure was kinda intimidating, a patient and slow technique with minimal pressure ensured there were no major injuries. It mowed down 2 day stubble growth like butter. Extremely efficient.

Blade : Gillette Wilkinson Sword

Brush : Yaqi Silvertip Badger - the first use of the badger involved face lathering. It was certainly impressive, but not mind blowing. It did create a lot of lather, which was creamy in texture, but it wasn’t really dispensing that lather properly and keeping it inside the bristles. Once or twice, I had to push the lather out by pressing the knot. This time I tried bowl lathering. I put the Godrej cream in the bowl, a little bit of water, then started swirling the badger around and within 3-4 swirls, the lather exploded like anything (2nd pic for reference). I had not seen such a lather explosion before, I had only seen it in YouTube videos and then I realized the hype. Now this does not mean everyone needs a badger, of course, but there is a certain charm to it. But synthetics also can create as much lather if not more, maybe not this effortlessly. So a good experience this time with lathering.

Cream : Godrej Cinthol Menthol - Amazing fragrance and cooling effect. Decent slickness.

ASL : Denim Original - Gifted by my dad after he heard he been getting more into wet shaving, very sweet of him 🙌🏼 classic barbershop fragrance.

Passes : WTG + ATG - I was apprehensive about the second pass after a cut-free careful first pass, went careful with the second pass as well but did catch a nick at the bottom of the nostril, mustache is easily my most challenging part of the shave as the growth direction is all over the place and end up nicking myself while chasing a clean shave there. Other than that, everything was baby smooth

Result : Almost BBS!

Thanks for reading, have a nice day all.

Fraganote “Aftershave” : A great fragrance for those who love the smell of Aftershaves

Hello Everyone,

Haven’t posted in the sub in a long while and haven’t been following the trends but I saw an Ad on Instagram about this particular fragrance. Went ahead and bought it and wanted to share my thoughts for anyone curious.

I love wet shaving and have always loved the classical aftershave smells that my father used to apply and eventually I did too.

This fragrance matches that easily. The smell is very close to the classic barbershop aftershaves. Difference is that it lingers for more than 30 seconds unlike actual aftershaves!

Also I was quite impressed to see magnetic caps on a perfume under 999. I think ABABEL also does that? As I said, haven’t been following the trends, but it was a pleasant surprise.

The performance is Modest, won’t say it’s more than 4-5 hours. Projection is decent because people have noticed it and liked it in my office. But if someone wants to buy it, buy it purely for the fragrance alone, don’t expect a long lasting fresh monster. It’s great for summers.

Thank you for your time, have a great day!

SOTD - Saturday Evening - 06/06/26

Razor : Parker Solo Edge - safest shave in my den

Blade : Parker Half Blade (2nd stint) - wasn’t as sharp in the 2nd stint, bit underwhelming

Brush : Yaqi Silvertip Badger - first outing of the badger. I soaked it in warm water for around 10 minutes and wow, the bloom of the knot surprised me. Face lathered with it and created a very rich lather, also quite soft on the face right from the get go. I can say the difference from synthetic was that the lather was much more “creamy”. Impressed.

Soap : Nemo Green Ice - incredible fragrance if you Vetiver or greenish scents. Lives up to the ice in its name, absolutely cools your face like anything. Great slickness as well.

ASL : Old Spice Lionpride - Had only used lionpride in the deodorant version, saw that it’s available in ASL form so got it cos I love the smell.

Passes : WTG + XTG

Result : Almost BBS

Have a nice rest of the day to all!

SOTD - Tuesday Evening Shave - 02/06/26

Razor : Yintal 3000 - my first adjustable. Loved it, you get so much control on how much blade you want to feel, great next step for intermediate wet shavers. (Shoutout u/HatComprehensive3903 for providing it)

Blade : Feather (3rd stint)

Brush : Frank Shaving G5 - Amazing brush. Soft yet decent backbone, lathered up like crazy in combination with the Pearl Sunrise Bliss, lots of lather. Also love the colour of the handle, matches my favourite team Barça. (Shoutout u/okiedokie_cool for providing)

Shaving Soap : Pearl Sunrise Bliss - Great scent, great slickness, thoroughly impressed.

Aftershave : Biotique Aftershave Gel - Moment you put this on your skin, you get hit with an outrageous amount of cooling effect. It’s CRAZY, imagine dipping your face in an ice bath, it’s like that. Also quite soothing as it forms a layer on skin, if you like that.

Passes : WTG at Level 6 + XTG at Level 4

Result : BBS

Have a nice day to all

SOTD - First “Premium” Shave - 31/05/26

Some recent acquisitions, wanted to share my thoughts

Razor : Parker 78R - Mild and effective

Blade : Gillette 7’O Clock Super Platinum - quite sharp and efficient

Brush : Yaqi Rocks - absolutely excellent. Much bigger than my Rubab and I thought the Rubab was a lather monster but Yaqi is on another level. Also extremely soft tips which I liked. Knot is kinda huge for my face but I like it. Lathered up like crazy.

Shaving Soap : Proraso Green - Extremely impressed. The menthol and eucalyptus work together really good and it’s perfect for summers and will keep you cool. Satisfying slickness. Thing about shaving soaps is that you only need a little amount to generate a very thick lather easily for 4-5 passes if that was even a thing. Got it for 1000 Rs and I would say worth it because you get a lot of soap.

ASL : Shavologist The Skull ASL - Love the fragrance and the witch hazel is soothing on the skin. Recommended.

Passes : WTG + XTG

Result : BBS

Have a nice day everyone!

SOTD - Thursday afternoon shave (28/05/26)

Prep : Cold Water
Pre shave : Mancold balm - quite smooth

Razor : BSC

Blade : Feather - it was the 3rd stint and expectedly not as smooth as first two stints. I think it is time to retire this particular blade and avoid the 4th stint.

Cream : Vi-John - Had to try it after I saw it in my local grocery store. Not a big fan of the fragrance of this original variant as of yet, but the slickness is pretty impressive.

Brush : Rubab Bomber - face lathered easily

Post shave : BSC post shave balm - very soothing and the cooling effect is great

Passes : WTG + XTG + ATG on mustache area, WTG + XTG on rest of the growth

Result : BBS

Good day to everyone!

How do I get rid of these marks?

I’ve had these marks for like 6 months now. Previously never had them. Haven’t consulted a dermatologist but I’m guessing they are post-acne hyperpigmentation. If anyone has faced this or have an idea, can you suggest how to get back to clear facial skin? Not asking for professional advice, wanna know if people have reverted this and how they achieved it. I shave every 2 days just for extra context, with a DE safety razor.
