Anyone else struggle badly with boredom/not liking your job?

I left a previous job as it was temporary and moved into a permanent admin job. I am SO heavily regretting it as it’s in office 5 days a week and the job/office is so boring and quiet. It has really brought my mood down significantly with how much I don’t like it and being so incredibly bored.

Everyone around me keeps telling me it’ll be okay but I really struggle with not being busy and when I don’t like a job it really takes over my entire life. I am applying for other jobs but does anyone else take things like this as emotionally?

Getting into SW in NI/Is mainland UK easier?

I’m planning to apply to do social work in Northern Ireland next academic year for the 2 year course. As far as I can tell the only way to get into SW in NI is to do a degree with no apprenticeship routes etc but I want to find out if this is definitely true?

I’m worried as there are only 2 courses in the 2 universities which are very competitive and I’m having to do a math GCSE for one of them (despite being educated to MA level). In England and Scotland there are so many masters conversion courses, some which don’t require a math GCSE.

Has anyone from NI moved over as they couldn’t get a place in NI and how has it went? I will be nearly 31 when I start and have a dog so it’s really not ideal but if I have to I have to.

Am I crazy for moving into temp job? + question for any QA testers

My previous job was meant to be a project support role but I ended up being a manual QA tester, it was temporary so I left it for a permanent (slightly lower pay) admin job in the NHS. I’ve only had admin jobs before so I thought it would be fine. However I’ve only been in the job 2 weeks and I’m so unhappy. It’s completely dead, very little work to do, very quiet office and I really hate going back to basic admin work.

I have a call with a recruiter today about another manual QA tester job for fixed term 12-18 months. I really want to go back to a job where I’m busy that I enjoy but I know manual testing jobs aren’t really a thing anymore and I’m scared after this job I’ll be back to square one. But I also feel like it could lead me to getting out of admin jobs.

I’m educated to masters level but keep getting stuck in this low paying admin cycle and I feel like I’m wasting my time. Everyone is telling me it’s crazy to go to a temporary job and I know the job market is bad but the alternative is staying in a dead end job that I hate?

EDIT to say I live at home and don’t have rent etc to pay or kids which obviously influences such a decision.

Anyone have hormonal/gut issues like this?

It’s been 6 weeks since my last period and I would say a 2 or so weeks before it was meant to come I’ve been very bloated (more than usual for me) especially when eating certain things, I’m getting drunk quicker and alcohol is making me also incredibly bloated and feel a bit sick some times. Coffee is also doing the same to my stomach.

I got the copper coil taken out in June and had a normal first period after it, so this should have been my second period and I never miss periods so it’s weird for me. I’m not pregnant as I’ve taken 2 tests and I’m not on any birth control so I’m not sure if my hormones are all over the place for some reason? I’m also quite broody and emotional and horny?

EDIT: the coil that I had was non-hormonal which is why I’m finding it strange!

How to get into community work?

I’ve discovered over the past while I’d like to get into community work and am educated to degree level but in humanities many years ago. Every JD I check for any community related job obviously wants experience and I am currently stuck in admin jobs.

I am debating doing an NVQ and volunteering to gain experience. I don’t drive but I am currently learning as I see a lot of jobs want this.

If anyone has any advice I’d appreciate it.

Collapsed Trachea Treatment

I’m in the UK and have a nearly 4 year old chihuahua who was diagnosed with a badly collapsed trachea when he was about 1. The vet told me it would get worse as he ages and the treatment would be steroids but he can only go on them when it gets worse as they can’t be used forever.

I’ve seen Americans say they’ve been prescribed things like bronchodilators etc and I have seen someone local to me on TikTok whose dog is on an inhaler. His breathing hasn’t got worse long term but he has been getting worse moments of bad coughing and I’m aware he’s getting older so I’m planning to bring him back to the vet to see if there is anything else they can do.

I know it will vary depending on the dog but I’m just looking for information on what treatment other people have got for their dogs? And are there any at home treatments that also help? I currently give him slippery elm too.

Previous Mounjaro Users - did 2.4/7.2mg make a difference?

I was previously on Mounjaro for over a year. Even on Mounjaro I didn’t feel much of a difference until 7-10mg. I titrated down until 2.5mg as I wanted to come off to realise I really struggle without so went onto Wegovy as it’s cheaper.

I’m now on the first week of 1.7mg Wegovy and noticed appetite suppression for for the first time for about 2 days then back to nothing. I want to know if others felt a big difference on the higher dosages as I’m thinking of switching back to Mounjaro but the price difference is crazy but also very frustrated spending the money I’m already spending and feeling no difference at all.
