Tapering metoprolol and beta receptor sensitivity

My cardiologist cut the metoprolol extended release from 25mg to 12.5, but the pill documentation says to not split it.

Would it be better to discontinue entirely to get back the cardio capacity?

Going to zero seems to make anxiety go crazy.

I know 25mg ER isn't a lot

CAC way off

I see why they consider incidental findings on CAC as tentative.

Had a scare when they measured my aortic rot at 4.5cm last spring.

5 months later when I can finally get the full imaging workup it’s 4.0. Not nothing, but much less pressing than it was before for someone 194cm / 6’4

Census records as “primary” / foundational sources

Did it ever get settled, or at least some people seeing success, with using Canadian census records or naturalization records as basis for their citizenship by descent claims?

My ancestor was born just prior to central birth registrations in Ontario and so far I haven’t found a baptismal record, leaving the census record as the best available.

Newly diagnosed - biologics?

Is it typical to be offered biologics early on in this disease course? I have been recently diagnosed with Crohn’s, despite a clear MR and no symptoms.

Seems very expensive if there’s no effect yet

Alternative to beta blocker / metoprolol

I’m about 2 weeks in on starting this medication and the fatigue is to much .. like cancel social plans and fall asleep at work bad.

Any suggestions for alternative regime?

It certainly worked for blood pressure .. 140/90 to 104/70

Floaters 1 year after vitrctomy

Is it normal to get a couple of specks in your field of vision this far out?

My doctor has me on a 6 month cycle for imaging and a casual IM in their app essentially gave no strong answer apart from going to the ER if i think it's an emergency

Duplicated imaging

My cardiologist is wanting to do both mri and echocardiogram to validate the size of things

Is that common? Seems an unnecessary expense if MRI is the gold standard

How far back

I was a CM in the early 90s, got termed for nonserious reasons.

Now I’m looking at returning as a near retirement type job and they can’t find any record of me in the phone calls I’ve been able to make.

Will I have aged out of their HR systems or will this be an uphill battle if not a test of honesty ?

Sprint translations shutdown

Question .. Sprint PCS at the end had a huge number of NPA/NXX ranges that were mostly depopulated from all the port outs.

When that network was shuttered, was there likely to have been a huge amount of translations work or even keeping the tandem up as the last gasp of that

Aortic root followup 4.5cm

For anybodies reference..

I had my initial cardiologist visit for an aortic root aneurysm found as an incidental finding on a CAC scan.

The result of which was semi predictable.

Baseline cardiac MRI and setting a more aggressive BP target of under 120/80 "as low as tolerated"

I'm 194cm tall which they indicated put me in a monitoring framework rather than any interventions.

No lifting restrictions or other changes

Do I have a chance?? 1869 Ontario

I’m looking for records about my great grandfather who was born in Ontario / Northumberland.

I can find reference to him in the Canadian census but am coming up short on birth certificate or church records.

I’ve checked with what I understand is now united church of Canada // he was Methodist.

Do I have a chance or is this not likely to result in anything

Chance of error in measurement?

What are the chances of a measurement being off enough to affect the clinical path?

I have a 4.5cm at aortic root aneurysm that was found incidentally during a CAC CT screening.

I understand there are other modalities and imaging that directly assesses the aorta instead of indirectly, I’m just wondering if this could all be off as by my understanding a couple mm difference can be the world as I’m reasonably tall at 194cm and have no other known factors apart from managed high blood pressure

Body size scaling with aortic root

How does body size affect the treatment of aortic aneurism ?

I’m 194cm / 6’4 and c they identified a 4.5cm one at the aortic root.

On some scales there’s clearly an aneurysm and puts me on a path to surgery if it gets bigger with lots of waiting in between.

The other places me at the tippy top of “normal” and something to to revisit every couple of years.

I’m 52 years old and have no known genetic factor or family history, just treated high blood presssure

Difference between CAC and dedicated echo for aorta size

Is there frequently a significant difference in measurement between these two?

I have an enlarged aorta that was identified incidentally on a CAC screening and I’m trying to see if there’s typically a difference.

CAC was gated if that makes a difference

Spirit pickup

Anybody know Frontier’s prior behavior in picking up routes others have abandoned?

I’m sitting here looking at what was a Kansas City to Orlando nonstop that was very frequently full and thinking it would make business sense for Frontier to pick it up.

(For totally non self interest reasons)

Frontier has a cheapish fare on this route, but it’s absurd from a practical standpoint as it’s an overnight layover.
