any shared shuttle services to get to JFK?

hey all i'm looking for a cheaper alternative to taking lyft/uber to JFK. when i lived in fairfield county, i used a shared shuttle service where you could just reserve a seat in a large van and get picked up at one of the designated locations (usually a hotel) and get to the airport for $75.

is there anything like this in Westchester? i technically live in the Bronx but I am within walking distance to McClean and don't mind getting picked up in Yonkers. i legit can't find another service like the one i've used before!

What should I realistically expect from a superbill "reimbursement"

it seems like all the highly experienced therapists who can actually help me tackle a bunch of problems don't take insurance, so i will be navigating the out-of-network process.

i've never submitted a super bill before. will out-of-network benefits actually give me any reimbursement?

thanks for any insight you can provide!

Recipes for heating strawberries?

Bought a bunch of strawberries a few days ago before I really read up on the cyclospora outbreak (in the U.S.)

Health officials say you should heat your produce to 158° because washing with water isn’t enough to completely remove the parasite. I am a pretty basic cook/baker but I wouldn’t mind trying something new. What should I make with a bunch of…pan fried strawberries? Baked strawberries?

Seeking Knicks baby clothes IRL that I can get asap

Hey everyone, I ordered a Knicks zipper onesie online for my friend who I’m seeing tomorrow but it won’t arrive in time. My friend and her husband are huge Knicks fans who moved away, and they have a 1 year old.

I live in the Bronx so I don’t realllly want to trek down to midtown to check the tourist stores unless I know for sure: do they sell Knicks baby stuff? Or even a “mommy’s little meatball” baby shirt? (Obviously idc if the merch is unlicensed)

Are there tourist stores on Arthur Ave? I haven’t checked there but that would be fine too

For those with IBS-D who take a stimulant ADHD medication: Adderall vs Vyvanse

I took Adderall and Vyvanse for many years, sometimes both at the same time (always under the supervision of a psychiatrist).

I had to quit the meds because they were worsening my OCD (recommended by doctor) but now I’m in a better place and really wish to go back on an ADHD med. For the last six months, I was taking Adderall IR once a week so that I could have one day of focus. I told my doctor about the GI symptoms it causes me so she switched me to extended release Adderall. Haven’t noticed an improvement though. I ended up in the bathroom so much that I lose any productivity I thought I would gain. I’m desperate for help with my inattentive ADHD but I dread taking it because it makes the diarrhea so much worse.

TLDR: Is Vyvanse easier on an IBS-D gut?
Does it need to be brand name or is generic okay?

Did anyone hear about a (possibly fatal) accident on High Ridge on Wednesday night?

I work at one of the businesses in the High Ridge shopping center, and I was there late at night on Wednesday. Around 10pm I noticed a ton of police cruisers and a fire truck right outside in front of the parking lot. One of my coworkers said he saw the EMTs carrying a stretcher that was covered (which would indicate they’re deceased). I haven’t been able to find anything online. Obviously it’s not my business to know this, but it feels so sad and I’ve been thinking about it for the last two days. I just want to know if maybe my coworker was wrong and maybe no one was killed.

Thinking about booking a national park trip this summer, either in July or early September. I’ve been to Yosemite once several years ago and loved it (of course!), but this time I would go to hike Half Dome. But I’m also dying to go to Glacier NP.

I think I’d be happy with either decision but give me your best arguments for either!

I really think I was meant to be a cool fun aunt rather than a mom, but the universe forgot to give me siblings (aka my mom had secondary infertility after me). My mom so badly wants to be a grandma. Her friends are starting to become grandmothers and it makes her sad and it makes me feel like SHIT. I’m not opposed to having children someday, but the reality is that I’m still as single as ever and I have struggled with my mental health for a long time. Birthing and raising kids sounds so deeply overwhelming. But if I don’t have kids of my own…my immediate family will continue just being me, my mom, and my dad. My dad says he just wants me to be happy in life. But for my mom, it feels like this current situation is not enough for her.

This dilemma is on my mind every single day. I know having a sibling wouldn’t have *guaranteed* that I’d end up with a niece or nephew, but it sure seems like the chances of my parents becoming grandparents would have been a lot higher.

:(
