Are these old binoculars good for a casual birder?

Hi all, I recently was talking to my dad about getting a pair of binoculars and he mentioned he had a pair of Bushnells in a drawer. I have to imagine they’re 20+ years old but they are 7x35. I’m most likely going to take him up on it but I was curious if anybody knew about these binos and if they are good for a causal birder. If not, I’ll consult the Cornell Lab Review and get new set.

Goalie Gloves for rec league

I joined a men’s rec league and decided I’d play in goal. I haven’t played goalie in over 15 years, and back then I didn’t even have my own gloves, I shared with the other goalie. I am looking to buy gloves and want to find the sweet spot of not too expensive but not so cheap that I’ll break my fingers or not have any grip. Any recommendations on good gloves for a decent pair of gloves (ideally around $40, but I’ll listen to all price points) are appreciated.

Last week on Instagram I heard about “The Birdman Special” from La Taq. For $15 you get a 3.5lb chicken, rice and beans, tortillas, and pico. I thought I’d post in case others were interested.

Overall, it was a pretty good experience, I’d say a B to B+. For $15, hard to find a better deal. But, I did show up at 5:30, I waited in line for over 20 min just to be told I have to come back and get the food at 8pm.

Less of an issue, the portion of beans I got was much smaller than what I saw in the post on IG (pic in slide 2). When you pay $15 and get all that, I’m fine with to adding a side of beans (and maybe more tortillas, my girlfriend and I were fighting over them).

If I went earlier and didn’t have to come back 2 hours after I ordered, and got more beans, I could see this becoming a meal I get more often.
