Haven’t listened to these guys in a while. They carved out a niche somewhere between Godflesh and Cop Shoot Cop, all clanging industrial rhythms and heavy grinding sludgy metal bass, then they took a more electronic direction later in the 90s bringing in more drum loops and techno and dnb influences. This track sounds like the halfway point between their thrash-dirge-noise-rock origins and the more electronic material. Almost literally industrial sounding like a steel press or something.

I’m so glad a lot of BQ’s old stuff is getting reissued. Massively underrated underground London band from the 80s (post-?) industrial scene. Experimental and noisy but weirdly groovy and rhythmic as well. And always extremely pissed off and political!

Listening to this compilation has made me realise that PC did most of their finest work in the space of three years. The whole thing brings me so much joy, rediscovering old faves like Tex Mex, Danger Zone and Raise The Pulse. ❤️
