Classic Istanbul Neg recipe notes on X100VI

Classic Istanbul Neg recipe notes on X100VI

I’ve been testing a Classic Negative-based look on the X100VI called Classic Istanbul Neg, mainly for warm street scenes, pale blue-grey skies, old stone textures, ferries, crowds, and everyday city light.

These samples were shot on the X100VI with a K&F Concept Nano-X Pro 1/8 Diffusion Filter. The goal is warm but not overly vintage, with soft highlights, natural blues, and a documentary street feel rather than a heavy preset look.

I’m keeping the full recipe settings and extra sample notes in the pinned posts on Instagram: sefafilms. Curious if other X100VI shooters prefer this kind of softer Classic Negative direction, or if you usually keep more contrast in street work.

Istanbul street set - looking for feedback on color and mood

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share a small Istanbul street set and get some feedback on the overall look.

These were shot on a Fujifilm X100VI with the fixed 23mm lens using a personal Classic Negative-based JPEG recipe I have been testing.

The look is meant to feel warm, natural, and a little cinematic without becoming too heavy or overly vintage. I am especially interested in whether the color and contrast help the mood of the photos, or whether they feel distracting.

Any critique on composition, exposure, or color would be very welcome.

Istanbul street set shot with a personal Fujifilm JPEG recipe

Hi everyone,

I have been testing a personal Fujifilm JPEG look while shooting street scenes in Istanbul and wanted to share this small set for critique.

The look is based on Classic Negative and is meant to keep the mood warm, natural, and documentary without pushing the colors too far.

I am especially interested in feedback on whether the color and contrast support the feeling of the scenes, or whether the look gets in the way of the photographs.

Shot on Fujifilm X100VI with the fixed 23mm lens.

Classic Istanbul Neg - a Classic Negative-based recipe

Hi everyone,

I have been creating and testing a personal Fujifilm JPEG recipe and wanted to share a few sample images for feedback.

It is called Classic Istanbul Neg.

The recipe is built around Classic Negative. I was trying to make something warm but not too nostalgic, colorful without feeling overly digital, with natural blues, soft highlights, and a documentary mood for everyday street photography.

The inspiration came from Istanbul light: pale skies, warm stone, ferries, birds, crowds, street details, and quick small moments.

Shot on Fujifilm X100VI with the fixed 23mm lens.

A small shooting note: +1/3 EV can be a useful starting point in cloudy light, shade, or scenes that feel a little too dark.

I would love honest feedback from people who use Fujifilm recipes, especially on the color balance and contrast.

Introducing Classic Istanbul Neg - a Fujifilm street recipe

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share a few frames from a Fujifilm JPEG look I have been working on for everyday street photography.

It is called Classic Istanbul Neg.

The idea started from Istanbul's light and street rhythm: soft blue-grey skies, warm details, stone walls, crowds, ferries, birds, and small moments that disappear quickly. I wanted the look to carry some of that feeling, but still work outside Istanbul too.

It is based on Classic Negative and meant to feel warm without becoming too nostalgic, colorful without looking too digital, with natural blues, soft highlights, and a documentary mood.

A small shooting note: +1/3 EV can be a useful starting point in cloudy light, shaded streets, or scenes that feel a little too dark.

I would love honest feedback on the color, contrast, and mood.

Classic Istanbul Neg on X100VI

Hi everyone,

I have been testing a personal Fujifilm film simulation recipe on the X100VI and wanted to share a few sample frames here.

It is called Classic Istanbul Neg.

The recipe is based on Classic Negative and came from the kind of light I often see while walking Istanbul: pale blue-grey skies, warm street details, old stone textures, crowds, ferries, birds, and quick everyday moments. I wanted it to carry some of that feeling without being limited to Istanbul itself.

The look I was aiming for is warm without becoming overly vintage, colorful without feeling too digital, with natural blues, soft highlights, and a documentary mood for everyday street photography.

Shot on Fujifilm X100VI with the fixed 23mm lens.

I would love honest feedback from other X100VI shooters.

Sharing my Fujifilm JPEG recipe look: Classic Istanbul Neg

Hi everyone,

I have been working on a personal Fujifilm JPEG recipe and wanted to share the look here.

It is called Classic Istanbul Neg, and it is built around Classic Negative. The idea came from Istanbul street light, stone textures, crowds, ferries, birds, and warm everyday color, but I wanted it to be usable outside Istanbul too.

The look I was aiming for: warm but not too nostalgic, colorful but not overly digital, natural blues, soft highlights, and a documentary feel for everyday street photography.

Shot on Fujifilm X100VI with the fixed 23mm lens.

One small shooting note: +1/3 EV exposure compensation can be useful in cloudy light, shade, or scenes that feel a bit too dark.

I would love honest feedback, especially from people who shoot SOOC JPEGs or test recipes in different cities.
