Key Techniques & Work Done:

Airbrush & Hand-Painting Combo: Mixed airbrushing for smooth gradients with precise hand-brushing for micro-details.

Color-Shift on UV Base: Applied color-shift paint over a fluorescent UV base to give the armor and flame accents a dynamic, glowing finish under different lighting.

Special Effect: High-contrast flame effects and base that pop intensely under blacklight.

SNAA TITAN GREATSWORD TRISTAN

Dusted off my SNAA Tristan after a long break from posing. Man, I forgot how good the articulation on this kit is!

I built this SNAA Tristan back when it first released, and it’s been sitting on my display shelf for a while now. Life and work have been pretty crazy lately, so honestly, it’s been ages since I actually picked up a model kit just to play around with posing and take some photos.

Taking it down today reminded me of how much fun this kit is. Even without a action base, posing it in hand felt amazing. The hip and knee articulation are wide enough to pull off some super dynamic aerial slashes and landing poses. The joints held up surprisingly tight after all this time—no loose limbs, and the cape, shield, and sword stay solid no matter how aggressive the angle is.

Sometimes when you're busy, taking 15 minutes to just tweak joints, find the right balance, and dial in a cool pose is all the stress relief you need. There’s definitely a unique kind of satisfaction in re-discovering a kit you built a long time ago.

Anyone else have a kit on their shelf that’s been sitting still for too long? What’s your favorite "pose-demon" in your collection?

HG GQuuuuuX Red Gundam custom painted

[Custom] HG 1/144 Red Gundam (GQuuuuuuX) - Detailed Color Separation and Paint Recipe

Hey everyone! Following up on my custom Red Gundam from the GQuuuuuuX series, I wanted to share the exact paint recipe and color separation strategy I used for this build.

My goal was to create a highly detailed, realistic mechanical look by carefully splitting the metallic tones and armor colors:

The Reds: I split the red parts into Red Metallic (for the main armor plates to get that deep metallic luster) and Bright Red (for small detail highlights to create clean color separation).

The Blacks: Used Black Metallic for the dark armor sections to match the metallic sheen of the red parts, rather than going with a flat black.

The Whites: Handled with a slightly customized Device White to soften the contrast and keep the overall look cohesive.

The Metals (The crucial part!): I layered three different metallic tones to mimic real-world machinery:

Stainless Steel: For the bright mechanical details and inner joints.

Gunmetal: Applied to the rifle, hands, and main structural details.

Dull Steel: Used as subtle accents on specific mechanical parts to create a contrast between polished and matte metals.

The shield was hand-masked for the red Zeon crest on the custom Device White base.

Let me know if you have any questions about the painting process or the kit itself. Happy building!

Superior Define gundam Vol.1 custom paint

Hello everyone! I wanted to share a quick video compilation of a project that has taken up a huge part of my workbench over the last two years: completing the custom painting for two full sets of SD Artifact.

As many of you know, these tiny kits (roughly 55mm) are notorious for their microscopic details and sharp panel lines, making them both a blessing and a curse to paint. The journey involved a lot of trial and error with color schemes, extensive surface prep, and a mix of airbrushing and fine brushwork to make those details pop.

Seeing them all finished and standing together makes every hour of eye strain totally worth it.

Would love to hear your thoughts on the color separation, and feel free to ask any questions about the paints or techniques used! C&C is always welcome.
