Starting HRT in Tokyo?

Hello, how hard or easy is it to start HRT as a trans woman in Tokyo? I've heard that there's a few informed consent clinics but does it work like in America where you walk in and are able to get a prescription decently fast? Should I expect any other hoops or troubles? Ty!

Queer-friendly Pole dancing/fitness lessons in Tokyo

Hello, sorry about the odd question 😭

I've recently taken an interest in pole dancing as a complete beginner and I'm wondering if anyone knows of studios in Tokyo that are queer-friendly. I'm trans mtf and asian, I've been told my face passes but body is still kinda bricky. I'd appreciate any insight. Thank you!

V's outfit, inspired by Misato Katsuragi!

Some quick screenshots I took of my V, still messing around with photo mode. I really should learn how to properly light/angle my shots.

Cosplay etiquette in Japan?

Hello! So I'm a foreigner interested in going to cosplay events like Acosta in Tokyo. I understand that in Japan, you have to change at the venue and can't commute in cosplay. But I wanted to ask if wearing a wig to the venue would be acceptable, or if I should put it on at the venue?

I assume makeup and things like that are fine to do before getting out of my house but wasn't sure about the specifics of what is acceptable or not in public. Thank you!

Hair stylist that can do alt style layered cuts?

Hi, I'm looking for a hair stylist or barber in LA who can do Asian style layered haircuts? Also preferably one who's queer friendly because I often show them a picture and they just give me the masculine version of it which is not what I want lol. Thank you!

I can't for the life of me figure out eyeliner 😭

I've been trying to do a catty winged eyeliner look but everything I try just ends up wriggly or looking really unnatural like a scribbled lines on my face. I'd appreciate any tips on how to draw eyeliner that looks cute 😭

Vocaloid "Free Ticketed Event?"

Do we know how exactly the vocaloid DJ event tickets will work? I'm asking because I'll be out of town for Day 1 and it would suck if they stopped giving out tickets on day 2 😭

How do I shorten this skirt?

This skirt is for a cosplay I'm doing but it looks way too long/baggy on me. The skirt is made of two layers as you can see, and I think they're attached to the waist band. I can't cut from the bottom because of the design, and there's also a zipper on the side so it's a little tricky to take it in from the side 😭 I'm a complete beginner to sewing so I'd appreciate any help!

How would you shorten these straps? I need to take out about 2 inches.

HRT and Hormone Levels Question

Hi! So I'm planning to make an appointment with planned parenthood to start getting HRT soon and just want to make sure I'm as informed as I can be. Generally, what does a starting dosage look like, and if they ask me about T Blockers, what should I say? Also for bloodwork, do I get tested first or is it after 3 months of being on E?

Ultimately I'd like to eventually switch to injections/monotherapy to reduce damage to my liver and for 'optimal results,' but I know they usually start you on low dosage and oral iirc. Around how long should I expect to wait until I get get on injections and possibly other stuff like prog?

Appreciate any advice, tyvm

Pre-made wig vs buying a base wig?

I'm new to cosplay, but from all the pre-made ones I've bought, I've noticed the wig usually looks nothing like the pictures and requires a lot of styling. Do y'all prefer using these as a base anyways, or just buying a quality base wig and styling everything from scratch?

How would you style this wig? Do you think it's worth trying to make a helmet wig?

This is my first time cosplaying a character with twintails and I honestly have no idea how to style the wig 😭 I've seen some people make really beautiful helmet wigs for twintails, but I have no experience and I'm kinda scared I'll mess it up. Are they as hard as they look to make?

Pokemon cosplay gathering?

Is there no pokemon cosplay gathering this year? I imagine a lot of people will be cosplaying the new legends ZA characters, but maybe I'm wrong 🤷‍♀️

Are there more casual-focused cosplay events/anime conventions in Japan?

From what I know, big conventions like Comiket are more industry-focused and the cosplayers it attracts are on the more professional side. I was wondering if there's cons more similar to Western-style ones, where people casually cosplay without perfecting their outfits or anything. Ty!

OLens for cosplay?

OLENS is a Korean brand that sells colored contacts, and are super popular in Asia. I was wondering if anyone has used them for cosplay and if you'd recommend it over dedicated "cosplay contacts," like from Uniqso.

Going solo - meeting new people?

Hi y'all- I'll be going to AX solo this year! I'm an introvert so I don't mind being alone and I can have fun by myself, but i was thinking it'd also nice to be with people, especially since this is my first time cosplaying alone.

So I wanna ask, what communities/servers are all the solo people using to find groups? As for meeting ppl at the actual con, I'm decent enough at making conversation with ppl at cosplay gatherings and such, but most ppl already have their groups and I feel like it'd feel so awkward straight up ask to join their group 😭

I often see highschool students with these bags and always thought they were super cute. I'm going to be attending language school as an adult in Japan soon, and I was wondering if it'd be weird if I got a bag like this.
