Crushed 2.28 miles with inclines before the 90° weather hits!
Just a quick 2.28 miles with some inclines to kick off the day. Early morning is the only way to survive the pre-summer heat right now!

My latest labor of love. Hit the craving perfectly!
An appreciation post for the absolute best part of making an iced latte. It’s almost a shame to mix it up. Almost.
Decided to try a new walking route today. The way out wasn't bad, but turning around and seeing this massive incline on the way back when I was already tired was a bit daunting.
Usually, a steep climb at the end of a walk leaves me totally winded, but I tried the physiological sigh technique for the first time while going uphill. Basically, you take a deep inhale through your nose, a quick second "sniff" at the top to fully fill your lungs, and then a long, slow exhale through your mouth.
It completely regulated my breathing and kept me from feeling like I was dying.
2.49 miles of cool breeze and cloudy skies. Absolute perfection.
Sipping on a double matcha and working on sock #2 (and ignoring the fact that I just had to frog a few rows because of a weird-looking stitch).
Does anyone else find that their ChiaoGoo interchangeables constantly untwist themselves? I feel like the T-pin is permanently glued to my desk at this point.
Change of scenery for today's walk! My usual spot had zero parking because of a soccer game, so I ended up at a nearby park instead. It was definitely a workout with all the inclines, but I’m glad I still got out there and got 2.01 miles in.
My first sock was going so well until I hit the heel. I solved the gap issue by picking up an extra stitch on both sides, but the pattern instructions for weaving in the heel completely broke my brain. Even after watching a dozen videos, I’m still lost. Look at it… 😅 I’m hoping to get some tips while I work on my second sock.
Started the morning with an iced latte and some quiet knitting time. My first sock was mostly a success, but I was determined to fix that tricky heel gap on this second one. It was so nice to soak in the quiet before heading out for a walk with my teenager.
I knew the hole was there, wore it anyway, and yep... woke up with a blister. Totally self-inflicted. D'oh!
But I was determined to get my steps in today and ended up managing 2.79 miles with barely any discomfort at all. Honestly expected it to be way worse, but it didn't really bother me.
Pushed myself to do an extra lap today for a 2.82-mile walk, and my legs were definitely feeling it afterwards.
Wanted a lunch that was simple, natural, and quick to put together to refuel. I air-fried some canned smoky sardines until they got a bit crispy, then threw them over a fresh salad of chopped tomatoes, cucumbers, and lots of fresh herbs. Paired it with a side of warm purple rice.
Good morning! I literally couldn't stop thinking about knitting this sock last night, so I got up early to squeeze in a few rows before starting my day.
Nothing beats Mom’s cooking. She made a fresh batch of chả giò to stock our freezer. They fry up perfectly straight from frozen, absolute elite comfort food for busy weeknights.
To the point where I actually had to take a total break from knitting for a bit! Glad I was able to pick it back up and fly right through the rest. So happy to finally have it off the needles. 💙
Regular shoes always make my feet burn, which is why I usually just walk completely barefoot on my walking pad. But I needed something for outdoor walks, so I finally decided to try a pair of barefoot shoes.
It was my first time wearing them today and I walked 2.49 miles with absolutely no issues! I'm honestly so relieved. Now I just need to find a second pair dedicated to my indoor walks!
When you want something fresh but only have 10 minutes. I mixed a can of Dongwon tuna with fresh tomatoes, scallions, Kewpie, lime juice, a splash of soy sauce, and black pepper. Paired it with purple rice and a stack of crispy roasted seaweed.
Terrible sleep means only one thing… caffeine! A double shot of Peet’s Major Dickason, 1 1/2 tbsp brown sugar, and whole milk over ice. Enjoying the morning air by the window with my knitting.
I added a hook to my table so I can just hang it right next to me while I knit here. It works perfectly! No more runaway yarn cakes. Does anyone else use their wrist holders like this when they aren't on the go?
Perfect weather for it… cool, breezy, and beautiful out. Great start to the day.
Nothing fancy, just a quick comfort meal for a chaotic evening. Used fusilli bucati No. 4103 because those hollow corkscrews hold onto the tomato sauce perfectly, paired with a super crispy chicken cutlet.
