Happy 4th of July from Mayor Kline.

7 years ago, today - Stranger Things 3 released. A fantastic season to rewatch during this time of the year. Hope everyone has a good holiday! Cheers.

It’s always a tradition to watch a couple episodes of The Twilight Zone on the 4th of July.

The Sci-Fi channel annual marathon they did many years ago introduced me to this amazing show. And usually on this day, I watch a couple episodes (or a lot - depending on what we do on the holiday). Hope everyone can watch at least an episode or two today! And hope everyone has a fantastic Independence Day!

Nah for real though guys - Undertone (2026) is pretty damn scary and good.

This movie isn’t for everyone, but if you have a good room with surround sound or a device you can connect your earbuds into, it’s damn good.

It’s a slower burner movie so it’s definitely not for everyone. But on a recent rewatch (after seeing it in theaters), it’s still damn good and affective.
Definitely lock in for this movie because it’s pretty damn good and has scary moments.

What did you think of this movie that feels divided by horror fans? Cheers and happy Friday!

The final songs in each season finale.

Even though each season finale had its own pros and cons, you got to admit the final song in every season finale was chosen well. Which song was your favorite? Cheers and happy Friday!

EDIT: I was mistaken! Season 2 finale song at the very end is actually “Only The Good Die Young” by Billy Joel. It’s when Hughie starts working with Victoria Neuman.

What is your favorite Batman animated movie?

Do you have a Batman animated movie that really stands out to you? We always talk about our favorite live action Batman film, but I don’t know what everyone thinks about the animated movies! What’s your favorite one and why? Cheers and almost Friday!

My picks:

Batman: Under The Red Hood

Batman: Assault On Arkham

Batman: Mask Of The Phantasm

Batman: The Long Halloween Pt 1 and Pt 2

Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Pt 1 and Pt 2

Do you guys prefer “The Long Halloween” comic or animated movie?

Both versions of this story are pretty well done. And a big inspiration behind some of the best Batman movies. I really enjoyed the comic, but the animated movie is good too! Which version do you guys prefer? Cheers and happy Friday!

What was the scariest moment in the movie for you personally?

The scene where she’s in the corner watching Bear sleep and walks like a fucked up cartoon character was BIG night terror fuel. Other scenes that spooked me a bit were the smiling all day scene, car scene and anything with her screaming and yelling like a maniac. Which scenes got under your skin?

Casting Announcement Captions…

When Matt sent out the casting announcement last month with these captions, I think they were hinting at what the new casts characters could potentially be. It is interesting with all the theories out there, we could have some idea on who’s playing who with the captions…

Infinity Pool (2023) was a wacky film.

This 2023 body horror movie was something else. The premise itself already sounded good (couple go on a trip and learn about a country’s disturbing and wack ass culture) - but it definitely had some moments that made you think and say “WHAT THE FUCK”.

It’s overall a pretty great but also weird horror film if you enjoy body horror and anything Cronenberg (his son, Brandon Cronenberg directed this and “Possessor” 2020). Scream queen star, Mia Goth, steals the show and the film had some crazy cinematography and splendid acting. Definitely check it out if you like wacky films.

I think Homelander should’ve…

(SPOILERS) - Killed Ryan at the end of 5x03 - it would’ve made the season a lot more impactful and would’ve fit the “no one is safe anymore” motto. And Ryan didn’t do really much in the last season after having a major plot line in the previous seasons.

Hell, I think there should’ve been at least a couple more main character deaths in this season. But I think could’ve been a crazy, emotional and scary scene had it turned out differently. What are your thoughts?

The Lighthouse (2019) - a solid movie portraying “descent into madness” accurately.

I loved seeing Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe going insane together. It’s a great movie and it has its unsettling moments to the point where you start to question your own sanity. Robert Eggers knows how to make his audience uncomfortable with zero jump scares, but rather disturbing imagery that’ll end up in your nightmares.

This is probably my favorite Robert Eggers movie - but it’s hard to compare a favorite when he’s also directed other classic horror movies: “The Witch” (2015) and “Nosferatu” (2024). “The Lighthouse” knows how to portray insanity well, so definitely keep this one on your watchlist if you haven’t seen it already. What are your thoughts and opinions on this spectacular and unhinged movie?

Homelander when he sees Firecracker vs when he sees William.

Dude is more disgusted with Firecracker’s heart than Butcher’s tentacles lmao. Unhinged at its best.

What’s everyone’s opinion on Perfect Blue (1997)?

This anime thriller/horror movie is REALLY good but holy heck it gets disturbing at some parts. Really reminded me of “Black Swan”. If you like movies about decent into madness and gory anime, you’ll definitely like it. I don’t want to give too much away, but it’s definitely worth the watch! Cheers and enjoy your Monday!
