center punched a damn t post 🤬
that’s first for me lol
that’s first for me lol
good god what a soft limp wristed bunch of folks over there.
didn’t realize so many people thought hog hunting was “evil” and “disgusting”
Corn harvest is in full swing here and texas and the pigs a numbers are the worst we’ve seen in years. over two weekends we’ve killed 260ish pigs.
i’m not one for vanity plates but apparently this one is available. the temptation is strong
these hogs were tearing into the dairy cow silage. one decided to become an acrobat!
was able to stalk up really close as they were at the base of the lagoon dam. wind & smell form the dairy covered our scent really well too
felt like we got a great deal. but came here for the validation.
first time subaru owners. we are very excited!
decided to switch up my .260 loads from SST to Game kings for hoggin’ and i’m super pleased with how they turned out. yes this is horrible shot placement on a running hog but he went down HARD.
bullet did its job with a fist sized exit would (no pics unfortunately)
load:
.260 rem
140 gr Game king soft point
40.3 gr H4350
starline brass
2.750 seating depth
cci large rifle primers
lot of fun hunting with multiple guys as we are able
to really dial in and time our shots to get the numbers down as much as we can out in these corn fields
.260 rem AR-10 at about 60 yards
we held onto our tix for the rescheduled show now on July 11th but kinda gun shy about making the trip again just to find out he’s still sick :(
rancher was having problem with pigs getting into their cattle silage. found em in the back in a creek bottom. no survivors!
Purchased my first 1280 optic. here in Texas it’s 98% humidity and it was still able to produce this clear of an image last night of this neighborhood deer. i’d say that’s pretty damn impressive
about 50 yards with the .260 rem. good eatin size too
spotted them from house and was able
to sneak up to around 30 yards with the wind in my face. it was quite the stalk.
We still managed to put down 5 pigs that had been tearing up the silage pile on this dairy farm. One happy farmer!
this was some really cool footage from the drone we used to flush hogs out of the tall corn onto a private road where we could get shots on them.
scope footage afterwards.
posted up on their road crossing spot (private fam road) and gave em hell. tough to get the pigs in the tall corn so you have to find where they’re accessing it
this was so cool. stalked up on these two groups in a big hayfield. they were in the wide open under a full moon. was hard to get much closer but we still knocked down quite a few!
stacked up 62 hogs last night. If you haven’t been thermal hunting, add it to your bucket list
ended up in austin for work tonight and if anyone has an extra i’ll pay for your ticket and mine!
never been and id love to go. just won’t be in town early enough for the stand by line
crazy how well you can hear bullet impacts on these pigs. they were around 45 yards from us. Wind was right in our face which make for a perfect spot & stalk
