Been wanting to build a guitar for a decade, and super glad I finally did!

Pros-

-the neck was awesome right out of the box. Very minimal fretwork needed, and action was immediately playable. Feels strat-ish and smooth.

- Everything lined up perfectly, no need for drilling new holes or replacement parts, etc,. The only part that was slightly misaligned is the pick guard holes, but even then no issues getting everything on.

- it doesn’t sound bad! Don’t get me wrong, it sounds like it’s on the cheaper end, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised with some of the sounds I get from the 1 and 5 positions. I would replace the pickups if i wanted to gig or record with it, and maybe I will, but for a project guitar and something I can take on the road instead of my “expensive” guitars it sounds just fine.

Cons:
- I should have decked the bridge instead of throwing the trem in there as tuning stability is kind of rough. Maybe it’s cheap parts or user error, but I string all of my own guitars so I don’t think it’s 100% me lol.
-the classic 2 and 4 positions really don’t do anything special like they should on a strat. Maybe just a weak middle pickup but it doesn’t sound quite how i’d like it to. I mean these pickups are cheap as cheap gets so it’s not the end of the world, just worth noting.
-the headstock is not the same as pictured. It’s cropped out because I have a decal with personal info on it, but it’s way different. It even shipped inside of a foam cutout of the original headstock. Just purely aesthetics but something worth noting as it’s not nearly as nice as the one pictured online.

Posted this previously, but it’s all fixed up- there was tons of rust on this thing, pickups were not working, output jack was messed up, and more. I spent probably $30 on everything that was needed to get it playable. Not sure what pickups are in this thing but man, they are super twangy in a good way. Being fully honest, I don’t love sunburst strats and this feels like the most generic guitar possible, but I travel constantly for work and i’m really excited I have something to bring on the road with me instead of worrying about my “nice” ones. Would love some recommendations on what I can do to give it a bit more personality!

The only things not featured is a strat partscaster that I still need to finish up, and my first guitar, an Epiphone Les Paul Special II, that’s back home.
