Hi again! I'm testing LD's story progression mod and tried visiting another sim and got this screen, which seems to block live mode. I made sure to remove any conflicts that LD listed on their site and had SP load first, as suggested.
Does anyone have experience with SP? I didn't see anything about this glitch in Discord.
I added some new AVI files to my Doc/Movies/Broadcast folder, and the channels are working fine, but the custom videos are showing up black on the TV screen. I'm having the same issue with a default replacement for SSX. The sims can still play the game, but the video is showing up black on all screens.
The AVI files work outside of the game. I can play them just fine, but in the game they're not showing up. I tried installing/reinstalling different codec packs, and it's still not working...
Any ideas?
I tried placing it on various sides of the pool, and none of them seem to work. Please help!
I have to keep fixing Sims' interests in SimEnhancer after noticing their convos are flopping because their interests reset to nearly ZERO.
Maybe I broke my game, and it's time to move on to The Sims 2 lol
I'm experiencing this with two households so far: the maid/butler stops showing up, but other NPCs are unaffected (Gardeners & Postal Service are no problem)
The first household had 6 sims in a mansion and 1 enhanced servo was not enough, so I hired a butler. After a couple of days, I noticed he stopped showing up, and I had to rehire him. Their house was a mess! Flies everywhere and objects constantly breaking down. Idk why he stopped showing up, because he was able to hire a maid, then she stopped showing up too. I assumed it had something to do with the servo, until it started happening with the second household...
The second household is a single sim in a 2 story house. The place is pretty neat, but I noticed the maid stopped showing up, yet the gardener was still around. I had to rehire the maid a couple of times now. Some other threads mention a possible lot corruption, but everything seems to be working fine aside from the cleaning service.
I played a third household with a single sim in a single-story house, and this has yet to happen...
Has anyone else experienced this?
The cab for this vacation lot disappeared once I had my household visit another lot. When they came back, they automatically got into a cab to go back home!
I checked build/buy mode, and all the lots had a cab except this one.
When this happened before, I had to reinstall/edit the lot, and it's happening again!
How do I bring the cab back? Is this a known glitch?
I'm afraid it might happen to other lots if my Sims travel between locations too much. Is there a way to export the lot and reinstall it without having to start over?
I downloaded the lot from T$R, btw, and made edits.

Instead of using the sink in the same bathroom after using the loo, they queue up to use the sink in the guest bathroom. Nothing is blocking the routing. I even replaced the sink with the most expensive/highest hygiene score available, yet they STILL choose to use the guest sink to wash their hands.
When I placed the sink right next to the toilet, it still didn't work. I'm running out of ideas without compromising the aesthetic. Why aren't they using the correct sink??

They created SOUP and just started a new miniseries called Skipper's Not From Here.
The production quality is excellent. They use custom animations and professional-sounding voiceovers.
The humor is dark, and the comedic timing is elite. I'm fully invested in these characters!

The Retro Trailer is a 6x27 build with 3 bedrooms, 3 baths, a living room, a kitchen, a dining room (with sims' free will preferring the patio), a study, and a private backyard fit for a puppy.
This family starts with a net worth less than the usual §20K starter funds, but it did feel a bit cheaty since Nostalgia Sims Things' CC cost §10 each and appreciate over time...
Guess that's the price you pay for the aesthetic.

A few cc items are causing my game to crash when I select them in buy/build mode. Some of the descriptions don't match the file name, so it's hard to know what to remove from my downloads folder.
Is there a tooltips program (it makes the object name the file name) for Sims 1 or anything similar to help remove buggy cc?
I tried the SE Object Editor to search for duplicate object IDs, but it showed me a list of over 1,000 objects! Most of them are game files, and I'm not going to mess with that.
Any good recommendations for CC beds for single adults? Most of the single beds I've found are clearly designed for kids or don't have high enough energy/comfort (looking for 8+). I need more options for decorating my single-sim households with small bedrooms.
Might be a long shot, but thought I'd ask!
I'm looking for a new object. A pile of clothes that can be placed on top of a surface to mimic dirty laundry. So far, I've searched ATS, Olena Clutter Factory, and TSR. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Once my downloads folder hit 3 GB, my game started to crash whenever I loaded a lot. I got it down to 2.75 GB, and everything was working fine. I took out a folder of custom cars to make room for something else, and now it's crashing at the loading screen!
(I didn't add anything else after removing the custom cars, so my downloads folder is even less than 2.75 GB without it. I got it down to 2.5 GB, and it was still crashing without the cc cars installed.)
I put the folder of custom cars back into my downloads, and it stopped crashing. Strange, I didn't even give any of my sims cars yet. I'm trying to make room for something else in my game and have fewer cars.
Is there another way to check what could be crashing my game? Idk why my game can't seem to run without the vehicles folder...
I downloaded these cool witch overlay defaults from the default database. The good witch is showing up in-game, but the evil witch is not. I tried removing everything from my downloads folder except for the overlay, and I still don't see it.
I had the evil witch change her appearance with the mirror, and her skin didn't change. It defaults to the normal skin. How do I get the evil witch overlay to show up? And do these overlays not apply to warlocks? Would love suggestions for witch defaults if anyone knows.

I got this pop-up about a mysterious location when installing a car alarm. I'm also using More Dangerous Burglars & Enhanced Car Alarms and saw this archived post about the same issue.
The culprit was one of Chris Hatch's mods. I took out all of them (which was not many) and narrowed it down to Community Time! I put it back in my mods folder to make sure that was the one, and it was!
I've never seen this before. Naturally, I clicked it to try it out. When the sim returns from installing the alarm, it asks to begin a mystery tour of the Red Light District?? There's no option to say yes or no, so nothing happens!
The Enhanced Car Alarms mod has an option to install an enhanced car alarm for 2,000 simoleons (which worked when I took out the Community Time mod). When I took out both mods, the normal pop-up about alarms shows up.
What the heck! These are TWO of my favorite mods, and they worked together perfectly in the past, so idk what's going on now. I ran my mods folder through HCDU+, and no conflicts popped up...unless it's Mercury Retrograde. I don't have a lot installed since I'm testing a new downloads folder.

I keep getting this effect when using this reshade preset in my game. The vertical black line goes back and forth across the screen. The second slide shows the effects I'm using. All my other reshade presets work fine, but this one is giving me a weird error. Has anyone seen this before or know a fix?

Sul Sul, it's me again, the recovering cc-holic. I returned to The Sims 2 in time for the legendary pink soup fix after losing my original downloads folder to the cloud.
After a successful shift to Parallels, I'm finally able to experience The Ultimate Collection in full thanks to the wonderful guides in the wiki. Unfortunately, there is a hard ObjectLimit of 32,767 GUIDs! In addition to the Maxis objects, it includes the character files in your active neighborhood folder PLUS new objects in your downloads folder.
Luckily, CAS does not count...but do defaults? Custom food is an unexpected one (after I downloaded nearly Jacky93Sims' entire food archive).
Just looking for some clarity and what else contributes to the object limit before I purge my downloads folder. 😢
