Quick growth of thyroid nodule

Hi everyone,

I felt a nodule in my thyroid back in December and went to see my GP, who referred me for a thyroid scintigraphy. It turned out that I have two nodules, a smaller one and a larger one that was around 2.5 cm at the time. They also did a MIBI scan, which came back reassuring.

I started taking thyroid medication because my doctor wanted to get my TSH into a certain range, and I basically thought that was it.

But then I had another ultrasound at my GP's last week, and it turns out the larger nodule has grown from around 2.5 cm to 3 cm over the last eight months.

I saw a thyroid surgeon today, but he wants me to have another ultrasound first so they can properly assess the nodule and give it a TI-RADS score. Depending on the result, I'll probably need a fine-needle biopsy.

I'm pretty worried and I guess I'd just like to hear from some of you who have gone through something similar. The biopsy doesn't sound particularly pleasant, but if it's necessary, it's necessary.

Just started my Michi method binder!

I worked mostly with what I had. Also found it quite challenging to find art that's not AI... If anyone has any good resources for that, please share them!

Feeling so discouraged... onycholyse

Hi everyone,

after being a pretty bad nail biter for as long as I can remember, I've finally managed to go more than six months without biting. The game changer was using nail foils, the ones you finish curing under a UV light. Unfortunately, after almost six months of use, my nails now look like this... Any recommendations? Should I see a doctor? Can I still use normal polish on them? It looks so bad and I've finally found some pride in how my nails look over the last few months. Feeling really discouraged...

I have issues with my nails/ the skin under my nails

Hi everyone,

I've been a nail biter (and the skin around my nails) ever since I can remember. In the last six months, I was able to not bite my nails, mostly thank to nail foils. I still bite the skin around my nails, but that's another issue. Anyway, I've finally given my nails a break from the foils a few days ago and just used polish because I feel condident I can manage without biting them, at least for a couple of days. But they look rough... Could this be nail fungus? It looks like they're kind of lifting off the skin, maybe because of the "pressure" from the foils? Also, ignore the black spots, that's some polish that's hard to remove. Any ideas appreciated.

Friend I'm traveling with has food poisoning, any tips/assessment welcome

Hi everyone,

My friend and I are traveling in Italy. Unfortunately, my friend drank some juice the night before our flight (Tuesday evening) and she thinks it was bad. She's had diarrhea ever since (so about 55 hours now). She doesn't have nausea or vomiting, only diarrhea, but eating (crackers, white bread) still triggers really bad attacks. At the start, she took immodium so we could travel, since yesterday afternoon only diosmectal and electrolytes. I'm just starting to get worried because she hasn't really eaten anything in so long and am wondering if she should see a doctor. She's oriented and water doesn't trigger an attack, but still. I guess I'm wondering about the logistics. Theres a Guardia Medica a short train ride away, but that one's only open starting at 8.30pm and it's early morning now. Any tips would be appreciated. Just feeling a little anxious and worried.
