I swear there’s a siren in this pic
I wish it were a Whelen, so I could’ve called this Where’s Whelen
Pic taken just outside the Chevron refinery in Pasadena TX tonight. Stuck here until morning (trucking, woo) but at least I got to see the sirenset

I was just innocently semi-trucking my way down I-10 in San Antonio with a trainee and our phones went off. It was a close one! Pretty lucky I didn’t get sucked right into the sky.
In all seriousness though, some neat weather down there today. Couldn’t see much from my end but the lightning was impressive.
I posted last week about losing one cat to a urinary blockage, and then this little guy coming down with one the night we got home from that. That was truly one of the lowest points of my life. My partner and I can't have kids, and we really love these cats with all we've got.
Between the generosity of strangers, kind vets, and some really good luck, we're happy to say that Cash is now done with his treatment for now and is doing great. He's behind me right now cuddled up with our dog like nothing happened.
To everyone who donated, sent us comfort, or gave us useful advice, thank you so much, it means the world to us.
Hey Waco friends, we could use some help. This has been one of the hardest weeks of our lives.
Earlier this week, we lost my fluffy best friend of seven years, Pippin, after a battle with a urinary blockage. We spent everything we could to try to save him, and saying goodbye to him has absolutely shattered us.
Just after getting home from losing Pippin, our other cat Cash (named after Johnny Cash, he's from Arkansas) started showing the exact same symptoms. He was also diagnosed with a complete urinary blockage and is now halfway through treatment.
We're doing everything we can to give Cash a chance, but we need help. We are totally out of money, I work 70h weeks but make just enough to cover my family's basic needs. We need help covering Cash's care so that we can put the money I make toward our upcoming bills.
Any donations, shares, or good wishes truly mean the world to our family.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.

I’ve owned this Bach 37 for most of my life, but I haven’t played in a decade. Between expensive emergencies and a career change that keeps me away from home a lot, I’m starting to feel like I might need to be honest with myself about whether I’m really going to pick it up again or whether I should find it an owner that actually plays it.
It’s pretty clean, the valves move freely, but it does have a sticky third valve slide and a bit of a dent in the bell. I wouldn’t call it the nicest horn ever but it was really nice to play.
Do you have any advice on what kind of value this might have, even in a very general sense? And do y’all have any advice on where to sell it? I have no experience at all here.
Pretty cool ride though, always wondered what it would be like to go 80 in this truck.
Side note thanks Verizon for losing a fiber cable the second my engine exploded, that made for a *really* great day.
Thing was like 4ft long. I can’t believe someone just left it here in the middle of a truck stop.
Yeast-shark tumbleweeds have always worked pretty well for me, apart from having to make them sleep between races. Finally came up with one that can eat, so I can feed it hot sauce. As a bonus, it now likes to explode sometimes. Not sure what to call him though.
