Looking for genuine friends in Armenia 🇦🇲

I’ve been living in Armenia for a while now, and one thing I’ve realised is how much I miss having a genuinely close circle of friends.

Back home, I had a really good group of people I could talk to, go out with, laugh with, or just sit around doing absolutely nothing. Here, I haven’t really found that yet.

I’m not looking for anything complicated or superficial. I’d genuinely love to meet people who are kind, respectful, have their own lives and interests, and are simply looking for real friendships too. No drama, no weird intentions, just good people who can eventually become actual friends.

I’m a medical student in Yerevan, so if you’re also studying, working, or just living here and looking for someone to hang out with, feel free to message me. Coffee, random walks, exploring Yerevan, trying new food, spontaneous plans. I’m honestly open to anything.

I know friendships don’t happen instantly, but I’d really like to find a few people here where it can naturally grow into something genuine. 🤍

If you’re looking for the same, say hi :)

My boyfriend asked for 2 weeks of no contact. I'm scared of losing myself.

My boyfriend and I have been together for about 3 years in a long distance relationship. The past few months have been very difficult, with multiple breakups and getting back together.

Recently, he became very distant. During our FaceTime calls, he'd spend time on instead of talking to me or even looking at me. When I finally asked him why, he later told me, "Nowadays when you call, I feel irritated," and asked if we could not talk for two weeks.

A couple of days later, we spoke briefly because he'd lost his phone and had a minor bike accident (he's okay). During that conversation, he said something that really broke me: "I don't know whether we're close enough to share everything with you." After three years together, I honestly didn't know how to process that. Before ending the call, he again asked me not to contact him for two weeks.

I'm respecting his request, but the uncertainty is consuming me. I keep wanting to check whether he's online or look at his social media, even though I know it only makes me feel worse.

What scares me the most is that I'm becoming emotionally exhausted. I've spent so much time worrying about him, trying to understand him, and putting my own feelings aside that I feel like I've forgotten myself. I'm scared that if this continues, I'll eventually start resenting him, not because I want to, but because I'm so mentally and emotionally drained.

I'm not asking whether you think he'll come back or whether he's seeing someone else.

What i wanted to know is has anyone been through something similar? How did you survive the uncertainty, stop obsessing over their social media, and keep from losing yourself during a no contact period?

Can someone genuinely love their partner and still end the relationship because long distance became too much?

I (23F) was just broken up with by my boyfriend (23M) after three years together.

There wasn't cheating, abuse, constant fighting, or loss of feelings as far as I know. The reason he gave was that he couldn't continue living with the distance anymore. I moved abroad for medical school nearly a year ago. We had a normal relationship before that and spent a lot of time together. The problem only started after we became long distance.

He told me he felt like he was losing his 20s waiting for someone who wasn't physically with him. He even tried therapy because he was struggling emotionally with the distance, but eventually he said he couldn't keep living like that. I was working extra hours to save money so we could meet next year, but he said that even if we met, it would only be for a week before we were apart again. My studies still have several years left, and I think the uncertainty became too much for him.

I'm not here to ask whether I should convince him to come back. I'm trying to understand something. Have any of you ever ended a relationship with someone you genuinely loved because the distance and uncertainty became unbearable?

If you were the one who left, did you regret it later? Or did ending the relationship genuinely bring you peace? I'd especially like to hear from people who have been in my partner's position, because I want to understand what this feels like from the other side.

My boyfriend 23M and I 23F love each other, but long distance is affecting him in a way I don't know how to help.

We've been together for 3 years. Before anyone judges him, please read the whole thing because I'm genuinely looking for advice, not people telling me to leave him.

We love each other. I have no doubt about that, and I know he loves me too.

The biggest issue is that he misses the physical connection more than anything. I miss him too, of course, but it doesn't affect me in the same way because I keep telling myself that one day we'll be together permanently. Waiting feels worth it to me.

For him, it's different. He says he feels like he's losing his 20s waiting for someone who isn't physically with him. That's just how he sees life. He has always said he doesn't believe in living in a fantasy. He wants reality. He has even told me, "Until we're actually married, I won't be 100% sure you're my life partner." Because of that, he hasn't told his family about me yet. Surprisingly, that part has never really bothered me because I've never doubted my own commitment to him.

Almost a year ago, I moved abroad for my studies. Because of financial difficulties, I couldn't go home this summer. There's also only about a 50% chance that I'll be able to go next summer. He knows this isn't my choice and that I'm doing my best.

We haven't seen each other in nearly a year.

At first, neither of us expected the distance to affect us like this. Before I moved, we spent a lot of time together and had a healthy physical relationship.

Over time, I noticed him becoming more and more unhappy. He even started psychotherapy because he was struggling. He told me the medication helped a little at first, but after about two weeks he lost faith in the treatment and stopped going. He said he felt like he was just pretending to be okay.

I later realized he had been crying almost every day without telling me. Even when he says he's fine, after three years together I can hear it in his voice. I know something is wrong.

One day he asked to break up. I didn't get angry because I knew he wasn't saying it because he stopped loving me. I felt like he was suffering and wanted an escape. I told him that if breaking up would truly make him happier, I would accept it, even though it would break my heart.

The very next day he called me crying and asked me not to leave. He said he couldn't be without me. For a couple of days he sounded happy again, laughing and talking like himself.

But now he's struggling again.

When he's like this, he barely talks. We don't sext anymore, and we don't even flirt much. If I try to kiss him over FaceTime, he asks me to stop because it makes him feel even worse knowing he can't actually be with me. So I stopped doing that too.

I feel completely helpless.

Sometimes I've even asked him if we should break up because I don't want him to stay with me out of guilt. He never answers the question and just changes the subject.

I keep wondering if he'll eventually regret spending years waiting for me. At the same time, I know he loves me and I don't want to make a decision for both of us.

Has anyone been in a situation like this? How do you support someone who is hurting because of the distance when there's no realistic way to close that distance anytime soon? Is there something we're missing, or is this simply something some people can't cope with, no matter how much love is involved?

I'm looking for honest advice, especially from people who have experienced long-distance relationships from either side. Thank you in advance.
