Rode all of the Utsunomiya LRT!

Finally got the chance to go to Utsunomiya so I decided to overeat Gyoza and Ride the entirety of the Utsunomiya Light Line! I honestly found the LRT quite nice although a bit slow at the dedicated sections. Was pretty busy too! glad to see that Japan's newest Tram has been doing well and can't wait to the JR <-> Tobu extension when that opens in a couple more years or so 😅

Kiha 150 at Tōya station (Hakodate Main line)

Still kinda sad I never got to ride the Hakodate main line back when the kiha 40s were still running through it TwT

Missing first few days of Winter Semester

I just wanted to ask and see how MRU/ teachers generally goes about with students missing the first few days of class. I'm in the midst of planning a trip somewhere for a convention and unfortunately I will miss the first 2-3 days of class in the winter if I decide to go forward with it. Just asking questions now so I won't have to panic and regret my decisions later on.

Thank you for 29 years of service 500系!

Can't believe it's been almost 3 decades to be honest... Honestly pretty sad to see the 500 series become less and less prevalent even on the Sanyō Shinkansen line over the years.

A little question related to rail photography.

I know the yellow tactile blocks are for those who are blind but station announcements usually tell you to stay behind the yellow line. That being said, am I allowed to go out the yellow blocks since the warning on the sign technically says I just can't be outside the gates or do I have to stay within the yellow line?

Questions about the Sunrise Seto

I've been trying to look up information for the Sunrise Seto, specifically the route towards Takamatsu. I've found some really conflicting information and just want to see if I can get some clarification here.

  1. Is the LTD fare and Nobi Nobi seats free with the Jr pass?

  2. Do reservations open a month in advance at 10 AM like typical ltd express trains?

  3. Can I reserve tickets at the green ticket machines or do I have to go to the Midori No Madoguchi? + are these bookable online?

  4. Silly question but for confirmation does the Seto stop at Osaka?

  5. How fast do the communal Nobi seat areas get fully booked? (Aug 1)
