My friend can’t get his free HBO sign in details

He’s just send me this text about his efforts to get TNT on the HBO app, any help in getting the free HBO sign in details?:

“So I’ve just spent 80 minutes on the phone with Virgin Media, and I am almost (genuinely) almost shaking with anger.

They cannot figure out how I can create a HBO Max account at £0.00. They have tried 6x times so far and nothing works.

I can click the HBO Max app icon on the Virgin box, and I can do the same on my phone, and I can do it on mums iPad. I can click all the QR codes i am offered and I can type in all the codes they send.

All I can get is Basic @ £4.99, Standard @ £5.99, Standard (no ads) @ £7.99, and Premium @ £14.99.

“Sir there should be an option for £0.00”. There isn’t. They keep on sending 6 digit codes, and QR codes, and email links, and nothing will do HBO Max for £0.00.

Then there is a link on HBO Max, “link your provider”. So I click on that and it asks me to select my provider. There is no option to choose Virgin Media. When I click “don’t see your provider?”, the answer is literally “lol choose a new provider” 🤣🤣🥲

At the moment I just can’t do it. Virgin can’t do it.

The best they can do is get their IT dept to send me this custom email link to get FOC TNT Sports (via HBO Max). Yay. I click it and it says I need to register with HBO Max and how would I like to pay.

Sigh.“

Vodafone/Cityfibre unable to port number

I’ve been trying to get my neighbour signed up to Vodafone/Cityfibre (previously NowTV, copper line) for about a month or more. We’ve had two separate attempts at installation which have both failed due to needing a cherry picker (second one was after cancelling Vodafone then resubscribing, can’t remember why).

Vodafone tried to call my neighbour yesterday but she couldn’t hear them (she’s mostly deaf) so we called them today. They said they were calling to try to rebook the installation. So we rebooked but about an hour later she got an email from CF saying it had been canceled. Called Vodafone and they say they can’t port her landline number (I presume if this was an issue they would have had the same issue before? But they didn’t).

Any idea why they’ve not been able to port the number now? Are time limits an issue? Or maybe just a mistake in inputting the info from CF? Or something else?

Thanks.

Openreach will, but won’t install fibre?

When I moved in (late Feb) I couldn’t get Fibre as no one (OR, City etc) was connected to my block. When I went on providers’ sites (Plusnet, Sky, BT etc) they said they couldn’t offer fibre, just copper or nothing. Talked to someone at City about wayleave and they said it would cost too much to connect us due to our position (they’d have to dig up the pavement I think they said).

Twoish weeks ago I tried again and loads offered fibre. Upgraded to fibre with Talktalk (not a fan but it was the best option for starting on copper and upgrading when fibre was available with City, if I remember. If you have questions I can’t answer them beyond that info, even if it’s wrong. But that’s how I remember it).

After doubts from managing agent and some non-committed sounding texts from OR (“Full Fibre is on the way! Our engineers are continuing work to get your property ready for Full Fibre. Thanks again for your patience.”) about the installation, I went on OR site and my address says I can get fibre. But if you only choose the block and no flat number it says they have no plans to install.

Any idea where I stand? Or how to find out definitively?

Edit: apparently neither City or OR have had any contact about a wayleave with the managing agent.

Looking for mature, fluent English speaking, UK or Europe based, politically central, without ego, plays casually but takes it seriously, up for a laugh too people for PUBG Mobile mostly. I play most nights and am pretty aggressive/push quite quickly rather than loot too much these days. Preferably a k/d of 2-2.5 or more. I also have an Xbox.

How the Hellraiser film got funding/produced

I’ve been meaning to post this here for quite a while but never had the motivation to write the post. Just commented about it on a post about Heathers and thought I’d post here.

I met the producer(?) once (Not sure of his title/role on the film to be honest - Chris Webster), he was my parents friend when they were younger in the U.K.

He got his break producing Hellraiser. The story he told was that he wanted to get into film so took some bankers out for a number of drinks in order to persuade them to give him a loan/fund a film (he didn’t have any specific film in mind or any script etc). After a few nights out he got them to sign the loan/funding (for want of a more accurate term), when they were completely out of it. He went to a film company (all of this happened in London presumably) with the funding and they gave him a few/load of scripts and said take your pick. He picked Hellraiser.

I have no idea how truthful he was or whether I’ve remembered it correctly but this is how I remember him telling it. And he was the producer (or something close) of Hellraiser and Heathers.

Advanced paper ticket with only one time on

Colchester to Lst departure time is printed on the ticket. Marylebone to Harrow on hill isn’t. Do I have to get the correct train from Marylebone to Harrow?
