So i like a tokay. I had a tokay. Turns out mine was wild caught and had parasites i was unaware of. It is completely my fault as i didnt ask questions when i purchased her. Now i would like to get another one since mine had passed. BUT WHAT IS STOPPING ME IS MY STUPIDITY WHEN I OWNED THE LAST ONE. I loved her. And i should have done better. They didnt tell me she was wild caught but the parasites suggested she was. She was scrawny when i first got her but they said she was only fed crickets so i just figured that was why. But she ended up not taking to roaches at all she did eat repashy and gain weight but one day i went to feed her her crickets and she was not with us anymore. I would have never suspected anything was wrong as she had gained weight and ate repashy for me well along with her crickets. Im heart broken and terrified to get another. But i have that big ole tank and nothing to put in it. Maybe its for the best that i dont get another. How do i know if they arent wild caught just trust the breeders word like i did last time??

Hey its me miss 320$ so i was reading up on everyone else’s posts and now I’m curious if there is anyone else from indiana on here. And if so what do you guys pay? I totally got ripped apart for thinking 320$ was too high for childcare for one week for one toddler. Every other mother I’ve talked to around here agreed that that is high. Therefore i was coming here to take a toll since i already have been gobbed once might as well try again.🤷🏻‍♀️

Maybe someone could spell this out for me, because I’m confused. I just need it super dumbed down.
So today i called a local sort of well known religious based facility to inquire about child care for my toddler. I asked how much it would be per week and i was told that its 320$. I was dumbfounded. The woman on the phone then told me that most parents pay with state vouchers. Okayyy. But thir employees only made around 10/hr last time i checked. Where is the rest of the money going? Why is it so hard to find reputable child care? Most government funded daycares in our area have closed due to the fact they are no longer funding them (they have been closed for a while). But my question is why is the facility charging such outrageous prices and acknowledging the fact that 95% of the families use government payment vouchers. Is this a money scam or is it just me? I used to pay my sitter 100$-150$ for my one toddler and the relgious facility charges more than double that…

Hey so what heat sources does everyone use for their enclosures? Ive recently learned i might need to step up my game on my heat source.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOSH HOW DO I KEEP ANTS OUT OF MY SNAKES ENCLOSURE?! Have taken the substrate out and bakes it twice cleaned with vinegar and dusted cinnamon and they keep coming back! I currently have paper towel towel in but it doesn’t hold humidity someone please help me figure this out!?😭

So I have a ball python that I wanna reach out and get advice for. She got out of her enclosure and she’s gone for four days. She came back and she was scraped up and cut up pretty decent. But since then i have been fighting or trying to fight the RI/Pneumonia with the help of 2 separate exotic vets. She has been through 3 separate antibiotic treatments. I am coming here to ask for advice or opinions or any insight. My snake has two more shots left (every other day administration) and yet she still has A LOT of thick mucus in her mouth. I am coming to see if anyone has been in a similar situation and see what is recommended. I almost feel as if having her put down would be best for her at this point as we have been fighting this since February. Im currently having to tube feed her as she is not able to eat on her own yet. Since shes been on antibiotics and none have helped I’m at a loss. I don’t want to put her down but if thats where things are i don’t want her suffering anymore. My poor baby. The vets have filled a prescription for an anti fungal med but i don’t know if we should even try. Would it even be beneficial to her?
