I spent months building an NPC manager tool because my campaign got too complicated, and now I decided to release it! It maps relationships and lets you chat with the NPCs! Feedback & Suggestions welcome!

This is an early access app that I am very happy to be working on!

It's in active development and is starting to be able to do things I only dreamed about when I first started coding it. It's in no way a finished product, and I will be working on it for quite a long time to add new features and content, but this is a great start to its first major release.

It started as a simple hobby project to help me organize my Campaign’s ever-evolving cast of NPCs.

Now it has evolved into a full-fledged NPC Manager suite that let’s you CHAT with your own characters, add relationships between them (parent – kid – friend – mentor etc).
All while fully compatible with your campaign world!

Main Features:

- Mass Import: You can upload a text document, an Excel spreadsheet, or really any other document and the app will try its best to extract the NPCs from it!

- Chat & Campaign Memory: NPCs remember past things, and you can also upload details about your world if you want them to reference them!

It has a generous Free tier so feel free to join and give it a try! Any feedback of what to improve would be greatly appreciated!

Note: This app contains AI features that are completely optional. You can completely ignore them and just use it as an NPC manager

Honest question for all of you that like to use physical battlemaps and props

First off, physical props and minis are awesome!

I've tried incorporating them into my games multiple times, but I always hit the same roadblock: the limited size of the playable area. And then I go back to digital VTTs!

How do you actually use them? Do you keep your players confined to that mapped-out city block for the entire session, or do you bust it out for a specific encounter and then clear the table?

I genuinely don't get how a beautifully crafted block with just a few houses fits into a campaign that takes place across an entire region of three or four towns.

Help me choose a class (dilemma inside)

Hi folks! I have a character concept in mind but I am not sure how to approach it in terms of mechanics. I am using Pathbuilder 2e, so I have access to all classes and heritages, and I am in somewhat of an analysis paralysis.

I will first write what requirements I have for my character, and then what I have considered so far and why it doesn't work as I want it to.

- The Character's concept:

Once a prideful tracker, he was blinded by goddess Artemis after hunting her sacred deer. Now deeply humbled, he serves as a wise, rugged protector of the wilds. He shares a magical bond with his falcon companion, and sees through its eyes. He lacks physical dexterity, but he can aim his firearm entirely through his bird’s vision.

Commissioned Piece from MercurialArt

- Homebrew rules:

Just for aiming and shooting a firearm I will use the falcon's DEX modifier. Have discussed this with my DM, we are both okay with that.

_______

Class consideration 1: Ranger

Human ranger (Hunter's Edge) with Natural Ambition to get the extra Animal Companion feat.
Problem is, Rangers have either STR or DEX as their key stat. Cannot choose DEX, because he just doesn't fit the character. If I go with STR, I just have a key stat that is mainly useless for a ranged character.

Class consideration 2: Druid

Animal Order Human Druid. This would work great, as the key stat is WIS, and the overall vibes fit my character. But, druids are spellcasters, and my character is not one! I could roleplay some spells like "Heal Companion" as non-magical interactions (e.g. feeding the bird a berry), but as the levels progress I will limit myself too much.

Class consideration 3: Animist

WIS key stat, and not a spellcaster per-se. I get "Sure Strike" as a lvl 1 spell if i choose the correct apparition. But, for the animal companion I can only use the "Pet" general feat, that will give me the most generic familiar. Not really a good option if I want my falcon to be a core part of my character's idea.

_______

Do you have any better ideas for a build for this character? Really my main pain points are that I don't want him to have a useless key ability stat, have a usefull companion, and have a high (minmaxed if possible) WIS/CON. (WIS just for the WIS based skills, not for spellcasting!)

Notes: The character will probably use a Flintlock Musket which is a SImple weapon, so most likely he will be proficient with it with most classes.

EDIT: Dedications and subclesses are an option too, I just don't jnow how to approach this lol
