Controversy over Requiem

Why do so many people dislike this song or find it to be messed up? Even though, yes, Zoe is literally hating on her brother after he's dead, she finally starts to acknowledge those complicated feelings buried deep inside her that she had for Connor. Everyone in the family grieves differently based on their own experiences which is exactly how it works in real life. It's such a raw, realistic song and I appreciate how they didn't sugarcoat the parents denial too. Maybe that was just a while ago but this subreddit seemed to really not like the song.

Being a RA

I'm thinking about applying to be a RA next year because the job is totally my kind of thing. Plus the help with finances is a huge bonus for my family. But I've heard you have to do a bunch of night shifts which kind of scares me. Can anyone provide insight on how much time you have to put in and how draining it is?

Santa Clara (30K) vs Cal Poly SLO (30K) Pre-med

I'm a biology major at Cal Poly SLO and a neuroscience major at Santa Clara. I already have my roommate and everything set up, but I recently got off the waitlist for Santa Clara. I know Santa Clara probably has better opportunities, but I have everything set up already at Cal Poly SLO and I don't know if it's enough to make me quit all of that. I'm a first year.

How do you know if you're cut out for emergency medicine?

I’ve never worked in EMS before, but I genuinely want to try it because it seems like fulfilling, fast paced work (which is what I like). At the same time, I wonder if there’s a point where someone realizes they’re just not cut out for the job. Like after seeing a patient die for the first time. I honestly don’t know how I’d react in that situation. For context, I consider myself a pretty strong person and not easily squeamish. But if I witnessed someone die right in front of me, how do you know whether you can keep doing EMS after that? And how do people handle those emotions without letting them affect their work?

When was Anakin's real turning point to the dark side?

In Episode II, Anakin already feels very different from how he was in Episode I. Could be just growing up, but he's already much more conflicted than Obi-Wan was at his age. You can see the darkness starting to grow in Anakin, especially through how often he clashes with Obi-Wan, and that tension keeps building into Episode III. But what was the real moment that pushed him into fully adopting the Sith mindset?

Where to get groceries?

Hey guys! I like making my own food for breakfast or lunch and snacks so I'm probably going to get the cheapest meal plan for a first year. Any recs on where to get cheap groceries and how to get there (transportation)? Thanks!!

Law and Society Minor?

Hey guys! I'm a pre med biology major hoping to minor in something legal related as the law field interests me as well. I'm super interested in case law and issues in the present day. Is the law and society minor fitting for that or will it be too difficult to manage with my pre med studies? I looked at the courses and they seem super cool but I want to check in about what the classes are actually about. Thanks!!

Hand signal for Cal poly slo?

Is there a general hand sign that we do? For example asu goes forks up with the three fingers. Just curious.

For context, I'm a high school senior who has been admitted to UC Davis for NPB and Cal Poly SLO for Biology. I'm a premed.

Cal poly slo is 33k/year and UC Davis is around 40k/year (both direct costs only). Both school have their pros and cons so I'm good going to either but I'm not sure if Davis has the edge. I would love to be close to family and Davis is 30 mins away. But it's that 7k/year extra and that's throwing me off. Is it worth it? My family will be kind of struggling to pay 33k/year already but I could take out loans if needed.
