Job offer - Timeline

I signed my job offer today for met tech while being an applicant on ADHD meds.

I started my application April 29th, gambits completed in May, interview and medical in June, and heard back about security and medical clearance in early July.

I go to bmq on Oct 10th (starting on Oct 12th), if anyone else has the same date let me know! We can make a group chat.

Moved to security and background

Hey!

I checked my portal today and saw I moved to security and background check (I already did the PSPS gambit) from medical and interview, I did my medical and interview a few weeks ago.

Does this mean the RMO approved my file?

Child of Autistic Parent: struggles with accountability

This is me getting something off of my chest that’s been here awhile.

My mom has undiagnosed autism (but we’re certain she has it, they just weren’t really testing for this in the 1960s, ya know).

Anyways, one of the deeply frustrating experiences I had growing up was my mom’s inability to take accountability without it turning into a huge meltdown. This got worse when I became an adult, but there were serious incidents that took place during my childhood that even had a police report attached to it.

I tried many times to talk to my parents about what happened, my dad is majorly avoidant (and maybe on the spectrum himself) and would just shutdown and ignore everyone. My mom would start screaming and crying saying I made her feel like a horrible person for bringing this up. I was involved in this incident, I was interviewed by the police about it. The incident was related to abuse that took place in our local church, that’s about all I will get into it.

This issue resulted in an irreparable rift between my parents and I. Other relatives have witnessed my moms meltdowns related to it, and have said how could I make my mom feel this way. They don’t get it. This happened throughout my childhood, my mom would do something objectively bad, but she would act so distraught and sad that anyone who saw her would feel bad for her having such an emotional response.

What am I supposed to do about this? It feels blatantly manipulative

It got to a point where I had to go no contact because my mom would act so sad and distraught about the no contact and other things, that I’d feel guilty for making her feel such deep and painful emotions.

PSPS

I just submitted my psps background and credit check, I’ve completed everything else and am just waiting to book medical/interview.

Here are my questions:

  1. Am I notified when the check is completed?
  2. How long did others have to wait before booking their medical/interview?

I opened my application April 29th btw.

Women in combat arms

Do any of the active personnel on here know of women in armoured/gunner roles?

I know some it’s been said before that women in infantry isn’t a shock like it once was. I’m considering adding one of them to my application and wanted to know your guy’s thoughts.

I’m a 26f, I’m ridiculously strong and built naturally for a woman, and I’m starting a workout plan to get even stronger. I can squat 225lbs, and I’m gonna start rucking soon to build strength and endurance.

Completed gambit I but keep getting email reminders?

Title says it all, I finished the pre-employment screening and it’s checked off on my portal as a task.

However, I started getting emails reminding me to do it with a different case id. When I go back to the email where it said my references completed their portion and click on it, it says all info has been returned to the CAF and there’s no further actions required.

I noticed these emails started coming the day after my reference due date past, so does this mean the emails are automated?

Thanks in advance! o7

Can you change your environment depending on the job you’re applying for?

Title says it all.

I’m thinking of adding meteorological technician to my application to increase my odds of an offer.

My other two occupations are navy, could I add met tech as army or does it have to be in the same environment?

Thank you in advance! o7
