Thinking about trying to document my journey of DMing for the first time and maybe put it on the internet? Has this specifically been done?

I have been preparing to DM for the first time, and there are so many amazing DMs online creating content on how to DM and focusing on different parts of the game. But I haven’t seen anyone specifically documenting and discussing what it actually looks like to DM for the first time and what resources worked and didn’t as they are doing it.

Idk. Probably a dumb idea but I thought I might as well ask here where folks share resources to see if anyone had ever seen a series like this. And if you have, please share it!

I don’t really eat plate meals, so I don’t make my baby plates. We eat bowls instead!

This is for all the parents stressing about making a whole plate of food! First we have a bowl of corn chowder with quinoa, black beans, spinach and sweet potato. A morning egg bowl with cheese, bell peppers, and spinach. A pluot. A bowl of quinoa, tofu, and bell peppers in hummus. And finally a bowl with orzo cooked with white and red onion, cherry tomatoes, and some balsamic vinaigrette (not shown is the tofu I added in).

He eats all his food almost every meal and wants more about a quarter of the time. For snacks we have fruits, whole veg, hard boiled eggs, bread and spreads, but for breakfast lunch and dinner we make bowls!

I make a big batch of a grain at the beginning of the week, and that is our base. I make another one in the middle of the week. Then to that I make sure we have veggies, protein, fats, and lots of color!

I’m at that age where I have two drinks over the course of five hours and I feel like I raged. All I did was play DnD. My whole body hurts.

I don’t know what I’m doing but I have bean and squash that sprouted?!

I know it may be too late in the season for them but I’m excited to see what happens 🤷‍♀️

Yall, stop engaging with the AI in this sub

If you ever see a post with a cadence that sounds like it’s supposed to be given as an inspiring speech in this sub, or anywhere, and it ends with a question, IT IS A BOT. It’s AI, for the love of life please stop engaging with this slop and report it! To demonstrate:

This is the cadence. It will tell a story about some event, a really hard day. Sometimes, but more rarely now, it will use an em dash.

The story will have details, many points, an emotional tug—and the narrator will just seem like they must have a perfect sense for narration. But it’s a lie.

There is no person on the other end. It’s a bot using you for engagement. And so many of you fall for it.

Are there any real human beings in this sub that are also tired of this, or do I just need to unsub?

I saw a pin tailed whydah at the park in OC California

This male was so small with such a long tail, I know they are invasive but…it was cool to see!

I made some chicken fried tofu

I took frozen extra firm tofu, ripped it, squeezed it as one does a sponge, battered it in some vegan mayo, oil and almond milk, tossed it in cornstarch, old bay, salt, and garlic, and air fried it for 8 minutes!

Miso Ramen Bowl

This is what I could manage with a 7mo crawling around my feet in the kitchen! Topped with broccolini, tofu, mushrooms and peppers.

Made using the miso base stock recipe in the Simply Ramen cookbook, switching out the pork for mushrooms :) will post the recipe once I get a moment, but feel free to remind me!

Edit: recipe! Obviously ignore and switch out animal ingredients for plant based ones where applicable.

1 medium-sized carrot, peeled and cut into large dice
½ onion, peeled and cut into large dice
½ apple, cored, peeled and cut into large dice
1 celery stalk, cut into large dice
3 garlic cloves
½ cup (120 ml) bacon fat (recommended), ghee, or coconut oil 2 tbsp sesame oil, divided
1½ cups (340 g) ground pork
2 tsp fresh ground ginger
1 tsp sriracha
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp kelp granules (optional but recommended)
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp ground sesame seed paste or tahini
3/4 cup (175 ml) Shiro miso (white miso, which is lighter and sweeter)
/4 cup (175 ml) Akamiso miso (red miso, which is darker and saltier)
Low-sodium chicken or vegetable stock-2 cups (475 ml) per serving based on the number of servings

Add the carrot, onion, apple, celery, and garlic to a food processor. Pulse into a fine chop. It is better to use a food processor but if you don't have one, finely chop these ingredients by hand.
2 Add the bacon fat and 1 tablespoon sesame oil to a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the finely chopped fruit and vegetables and cook until onions are translucent and apple is tender stirring occasionally, for 10-12 minutes. When done, turn heat down to medium-low.
3 Add your ground pork to the cooked vegetable mixture. Cook for about 8-10 minutes until the meat is no longer pink. Stir in the ginger, sriracha, soy sauce, kelp granules, apple cider vinegar,
4 Return the entire mixture to the food processor and pulse until pork is finely ground. It is better
and salt. Incorporate well.
to use a food processer, but if you don't have one, then use a potato masher or wooden spoon to break the mixture into very small pieces in the skillet.
5 Add the sesame seed paste and miso to the ground pork mixture and mix well. It should have the
consistency of a thick paste. Your base is done.
6 Bring the Miso Base and chicken or vegetable stock to a boil (depending on the number of people you are serving, use the ratio of 3 tablespoons Miso Base to 1 cup (235 ml) chicken or vegetable stock). Lower heat and let simmer until it's ready to serve. Use about 2 cups (475 ml) soup per serving. Right before serving, crank the heat back up to boil the soup.

[OC] I bought a plain 3d dice tower and turned it into an overgrown woodland castle

More images here: https://imgur.com/a/wguXOid

I bought a plain black printed dice tower because I wanted a two sided one for DMing and thought it would do. And then I just felt inspired and saw what it could be, and painted it into the castle of my dreams.

This was my first time painting a mini and now I think I’m addicted.

Bonus, it rolled two nat 20s the first time I rolled on it, so it’s lucky to boot!

Hey yall, my husband and I are moving to Athens from OC. He is originally from Dayton. I liked Athens when we were looking because it: seems more liberal than other areas of Ohio, I love nature and hiking, and I want to be able to live somewhere with a cute downtown I can walk to.

My hobbies include gardening, hiking, birding, art, writing, and playing lots of D&D. Will I be able to do these things in Athens? Especially D&D I’m going to miss my group here.

Any minuses I should be aware of? Pluses? We’re going to buy a house wherever we end up.

I have never read much smut but I listen to Critical Role and I really liked Tusk Love after seeing it in the store. I liked that: it didn’t take itself too seriously, it was very light, there was one plot and it wasn’t trying to be more than that.

I know people like these romantasy series where there’s so much complexity and stuff but I’m not really into it. I just want a simple book with a simple premise where the characters fuck a bit and fall in love the end. Anything else out there like Tusk Love?
