SWU Custom Horizontal Card Dividers [FREE]

Hello there everyone, I designed a custom set of horizontal dividers for Star Wars: Unlimited to fit standard 1000-count bulk storage boxes, and I'm sharing the files for free! They are exactly 88.9mm x 72mm. Since horizontal cards sit 63.5mm high, these provide a precise 8.5mm top tab that fits perfectly under tight box lids (7.25cm max internal clearance) without getting crushed.

What’s Included:

34 Total Divider Graphics: Designed around a primary-aspect-first layout style so your card pool stays clean and easy to draft. Also includes four PDF documents with each divider arranged and sized properly.

  • Core: Leaders, Bases, Tokens
  • Vigilance (Blue): Ground Units, Space Units, Events, Upgrades
  • Command (Green): Ground Units, Space Units, Events, Upgrades
  • Aggression (Red): Ground Units, Space Units, Events, Upgrades
  • Cunning (Yellow): Ground Units, Space Units, Events, Upgrades
  • Neutral Pools: Heroism, Villainy, and Neutral
  • Sets: All sets up to and including Intro Battle Hoth, Homeworlds and Icons

Silhouette Studio Template (.studio3): Pre-made and ready to cut.

Print & Cut Tips:

  • Layout: Print on four sheets of 8.5x11 (Letter) paper in a 3x2 grid (6 per sheet).
  • Lamination: Print on heavy cardstock (I used 271gsm), seal in at least 3mil lamination, and then cut out with scissors, hobby knife, automated cutter or whatever tool you have.

Edit1: Also wanted a "Token" divider and I forgot to upload the PDFs with all the cards pre-arranged. The URL updated with the changes in v1.1

Edit2: Combined the PDF files into one, and added several more divider options including one for all the sets, and a blank to create your own. URL updated with the changes in v1.2

Live Errata Document Now Available!

Hey everyone, we want to make sure your games run as smoothly and fairly as possible. To help facilitate this, we are launching a live errata document to correct typos and other small errors accurate between major updates.

Moving forward, if you ever spot a discrepancy between the codex and our official digital Army Builder, always assume the Army Builder is correct. Because it is digital, it receives hotfixes and balance updates much faster than paper.

We will provide a changelog whenever those digital updates happen in the following major update.

For everything else, our new errata document will serve as your frequently updated rules resource.

You can check out the latest tweaks right here:

My thoughts and settings for ProxyJak's inkjet cardstock "Semi-Gloss White Core - MTG Feel".

This is the exact paper I am referring to: https://proxyjak.com/products/inkjet-proxy-cardstock-white-core-semi-gloss (discount code PROXXIED for 10% off, I am not affiliated or benefiting from code use).

I am using an Epson 8550 and a Silhouette Cameo 5.

For print settings I used premium semi-gloss, automatic color correction, standard color quality, bidirectional printing off and quiet mode on.

For cut settings I have two profiles:

  1. Production Cutting:
    Force 34, Speed 12, Passes 2, Blade Depth 4
Roughly 30% faster cuts, and minimal blade wear.

  2. Blade and Mat Saver:
    Force 40, Speed 4, Passes 1, Blade Depth 4
Only a single pass saves the blade life and depth 4 saves the mat.

----

Overall, I like the direction that this paper is taking the proxying hobby. Saving time and money on lamination sheets, along with getting a more realistic semi-gloss look is great. The image and color quality is fantastic, very similar to what I would expect from my high quality glossy photo paper. In a blind test with card sleeves I was unable to tell the difference between this card and a real card.

That being said I have a few issues with the paper that I would like to see addressed if at all possible before I can go all in on it:

  1. The unsleeved surface texture is just terrible. It is very sticky which makes removing from "lite-stick" Cameo cutting mats difficult and gives me a gross feeling when touching them raw. I believe professional card makers use a kind of varnish to help with this. If I were "mass" producing my own cards at home for personal or commercial use I would rather just use lamination sheets. Most people will sleeve them anyway but taking them out and putting into sleeves is no big deal and they could be used without sleeves too.
  2. This is slightly related to #1; the rigidity of the card is very similar to a real card, however it is relatively easy to induce a permanent bend or crease in the card (for example when removing from a Cameo cutting mat). I believe the varnish mentioned before would help with this, but its an issue that doesn't exist with lamination.
  3. I understand this is a relatively new product made for a very niche market and considering that the price isn't bad. The 10% discount certainly helps too. It is a shame that the paper currently only comes in 8.5x11, because 11x17 tabloid size would be very nice. Looking from a pure mass production mindset (without paying a professional card printer) it would be much more economical to get some double sided photo glossy in 11x17 and 3mil lamination sheets. Then the price per card drops from roughly $0.098 per card (using ProxyJak's) to $0.041 per card with similar quality.

Again really like this paper and if you are curious you should check out the sample pack at least and give it a try. I've included my settings above for anyone who stumbles upon this later. Everywhere I kept looking people refused to give any numbers. This is at least a starting point for you to try and find which settings work for you.

It has been a long time in the making. After over a year and a half of experimentation, multiple rules refreshes, building the website, and scripting the TTS mod, I feel it is finally ready to open the game to everyone. I hope you like what I've come up with.

The Vision

My goal with this game has always been to play Star Wars at a scale that hasn't been done before—one that actually looks like a war. I wanted something that captures that scale without being ridiculously complicated to learn or taking all day to play. What started as some OPR factions and a Legion expansion has evolved into its own separate wargame engine—one that can be used for any sci-fi setting, not just Star Wars.

How You Can Help

I've polished the rules as far as I can, but now I need your help to break them. Polishing only goes so far in a vacuum; the game needs to be dissected to see what works and what needs refinement. During this Alpha, I’m looking for feedback on:

  • Balance & Points: Are any units, missions, support cards, or leaders too good? Not good enough?
  • Clarity & Onboarding: The game is meant to be easy to learn and quick to play. Did we accomplish that, or are the rules confusing? The "Feel": Most importantly, is it fun? Does it capture the atmosphere of massive, combined-arms warfare?
  • Future Growth: What should come next? New leaders, units, missions, or support cards?

Links to Get Started

Thank you all for sticking with the project this long. I'll be hanging out in the REGIMENT discord today to answer questions. Feel free to ping me if needed!

We will be migrating to a new subreddit: r/REGIMENT_Game

Reddit does not allow for the changing of names and this subreddit name is too on the nose with copyright violation.

The subreddit will remain up, but closed for future posting.
