Never made the connection until now on why it’s so hard to get back to sleep after getting up and laying back down

Still in the process of diagnosis (along with EDS) and I’ve always had this symptom, at least since I was in my early teens. It’ll be early in the morning and I’ll go to the bathroom, I’m still really tired, but as soon as I lay down it’s like I get an adrenaline spike which can trigger anxiety or just energy that I can’t use because I’m still sleepy. Oftentimes when this happens I need to wait a good 30-60 minutes before I can get back to sleep or if it triggers an anxiety spiral take half a xanax to calm down. I never made the connection to POTS until now when it happened this morning and I thought “well if my heart rate jumps when I stand up maybe it’s not coming back down immediately when I lay down” which prompted me to look into it. It also explains the vivid dreams/nightmares and nighttime awakenings I’ve been having. Anyone else experience this? When did you realize the connection?

[Sun Care] I use Hada Labo UV white gel for my face and love it, but need something similar but that’s cheaper for the body

I truly love this sunscreen. It works great, never burned with it, it smells nice (doesn’t have that horrible sunscreen smell), zero white cast, doesn’t clog my pores, absorbs quickly, and doesn’t feel sticky or heavy on my face. My only qualms are that it will pill if I rub/scratch my skin like if I have an itch or something (but otherwise stays fine) and that my eyes can get irritated sometimes if it’s particularly hot out so sweat brings it closer to my eyes or if I rub my eyes at all it can sting after (or if I’m wearing it for a long time it’ll start to irritate toward the end of the day).

So I have three asks

  1. Is there a way to prevent pilling with touching my face? Any product I can put over top?

  2. What suncreens are good for around the eyes so I can avoid the irritation issue and keep application away from eyes?

  3. Title, I love this one for the face but it would be way too expensive to use it for the body too. I’ll use it on my ears and the back of my neck but for my arms and hands I use Eucerin sun gel-cream (specifically the European one that says “sun allergy protect”). It works fine but it has that typical sunscreen smell and I hate it so much. I want something like the UV white gel that either has a very slight floral smell or next to no smell at all.

Is there a way to calculate how much water I specifically need to drink in a day?? I’m terrible with water intake but I desperately need it, but I just want the bare minimum

I’m on opioid medication plus a few other constipating meds plus I like fibrous things like sweet potatoes, nuts, fruit, seeds, etc that really need water to effectively get through. I’ll be damned if I don’t have pre-cancer in my colon at this point just from 23 years of being a water hater with 3 of those on the meds. I’ve always hated the taste of it, it has to be specific brand, always ice cold or at least mostly cold, and even then sometimes it just tastes bad to me and I don’t know why. I feel like if I drank 4 bottles of water a day I would feel uncomfortably full. I could set myself reminders but when they go off I might not be ready to drink water for whatever reason so I’ll miss out on the intake, so right now I’m chugging as much water as I can when I remember to at the end of the day and that’s the majority of my intake. Now with all the fiber I eat plus the meds I probably need even *more* than 64oz that’s recommended, which feels daunting and like an impossible goal to me. But how much more?? And do I actually need that much? How can I even begin to drink that much logistically while also being able to actually realistically handle it? Because it feels like a massive chore on top of already just surviving day to day with all my health issues

I figure if anyone would know this shit it would be you water experts

And yes I’m autistic

Please help

Insect wings preservation? Looking for a way to make them stiff to use in art pieces

I found a dead honey bee today and I would have kept it whole but it was bisected at the thorax and abdomen when I found it, and then when I tried gluing it back together the head fell off so I just gave up. But the wings were fully intact and already dry so they’re holding up fine in a plastic bag for now, but they’re hard to pick up and I wanted to use them in an art piece that would require gluing them onto another surface (but they need to be hard for that). I was thinking clear nail polish but not sure if that would destroy the wings or not. A quick dip in resin is another option but it’s more work and I’d have to dig out my resin kit (plus they might get damaged if I dunk them so maybe brushing on the resin would make more sense). Any other methods? Which one is best for looks and strength? I don’t mind if it looks shiny since it’ll be a fairy themed project

Wanted to try fl-41 tinted glasses but the ones I got make my migraines worse, not sure if it’s just the brand or otherwise

I got these ones from amazon because they were the cheapest and also the only ones I could find that weren’t stupidly large for my face. Well first thing is they aren’t dark enough, I got the 50% but it’s really not enough. And what makes my migraines worse is that they have this weird magnifying effect, almost exactly the weird distortion you get wearing glasses of the wrong prescription so I wondered if they sent me a reading glasses version or something because I saw another listing offering that as an option. But this listing doesn’t have that as an option and the few reviews don’t mention this as a problem so I don’t know if I got a defective pair or if it’s the brand itself that has a design flaw. Did anyone else have this issue trying these types of glasses out? Also I bought a super cheap pair of not fl-41 tinted glasses but they are a really dark pink for like $6 a while ago and they work well but the lenses are much too small (I got smaller frames because I was worried about them looking too big) and they are crooked/poorly constructed, which is why I wanted to get a proper pair of the fl-41s to replace them. What is the deal with fl-41 tint? Is it just the warmth that helps or is there something specific to it? Because it didn’t help me but this random dark pink tint does so I’m just curious. I really could use something while I’m waiting on my insurance to approve emgality for me. I’ve reached the point where I really need another preventative but it might be a battle to get it though a lot of the meds I’ve been on for other neuro stuff also double as migraine preventatives like topamax, gabapentin, zonisamide, amitriptyline, etc. and they don’t really check the dates or what it was for, just that you were on them so hopefully I can just get it without issue. But for now does anyone have recommendations/advice for the glasses? I’d say one of my biggest triggers is certain video games (I’m playing donkey kong bananza currently and boy does it hurt my head) but I don’t want to give them up and the glasses allow me to play without things getting significantly worse. It would just be better if they were big enough to cover my eyes but not monstrous on my face. I did see an 80% fl-41 pair but it was not the right shape for my face with like a 46mm lens height. For comparison the current tinted but not fl-41 ones I have are 30mm tall and my regular distance glasses are 32mm, the fl-41s linked I measured at 40mm and are a tad oversized but not by a crazy amount. I just put them on right now to test them again and I could *feel* my eyes straining more, and my head getting worse while the darker pink ones make things a little more bearable. Though I’m in the throughs of a migraine so not much is gonna help but probably sleeping it off, I could take sumatriptan but lately the pills haven’t been doing anything and I’m too much of a bitch for the autoinjector rn despite doing a manual injection every five days on myself… migraines are just exhausting but I can’t handle being bored so screentime is an ongoing battle and I just want to compromise, not sacrifice it. Any other advice or tips is appreciated, I can’t be the only migraine sufferer who likes to primarily play games as a hobby so I figure someone has figured out a system that keeps symptoms at bay while playing
