As an artist, does it help to live in a big city like NYC or LA?

Honestly this is out of curiosity. Is there any big reason or difference in getting your music out there when you live in a big city? Live shows still happen and there’s open mic nights in smaller areas too so does the process change much in a big city?

Looking for a producer!

I’ve only been making music for a short amount of time, but I’ve been writing for way longer. I have ideas in my head, but would like to bounce ideas and suggestions off of other people to help bring my vision to life as far as music videos, songs, etc.

I’d say my music is like Yungblud meets Miley Cyrus and Chance the Rapper then sprinkle Paramore dust on top. I’ll be honest it’s an odd mix, but I love what I do and I’m very proud of it.

If interested or curious, you can listen on any major streaming platform (Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music, etc.) under the name ReNae Phoenix. You can also check out some of my work and personality on TikTok or IG

I’m very serious about my music and building a community, but I’ve been working by myself so I’m willing to hear thoughts about either how to find a producer or if you are one, please reach out to me. I appreciate it!

What’s the best equipment? And does anyone mentor musicians?

Trying to make a band and if no one’s interested, I’d like to at least get the equipment myself and work on my music. So what’s a good beginner mic? DAW? What else is needed to start out? And honestly if someone is kind enough to mentor me, I’d appreciate it. My music is like alternative-punk-pop/hard rock-rap type of vibe.

26F Vocalist. Looking to start a band and need some mates who are serious about making music and building something. (Alt, hard rock, indie, rap fusion type of vibe)

I have songs ready and written. Produced, mixed, and recorded my first song already, but I don’t have experience mixing or editing.

Drummers, Guitarists, Bassists, and any instrument that would give us a unique sound are welcome.

I’m trying to build a community around our music not just sing.

If you wanna listen to my vocals here’s the SoundCloud link:

Equipment: I only have a cheap mic and laptop. Yes, we’re starting from scratch.
