AMC 34th street closed?

Anyone else get emailed that their screenings are cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances and mainentance?

Was going to see The Invite tomorrow … Is it the whole theater or just one auditorium? Currently have a headache trying to find 6 tickets at a different theater as most screenings are basically sold out or front row only

does someone’s behavior influence an oscar vote?

saw someone comment that they were annoyed samantha morton is getting oscar buzz because she was a horror to work with which made me wonder … does anyone know if someone’s demeanor/behavior impact if people vote for them? like even if someone gave a better performance but they were a fucking asshole, does that sway votes? or are people usually just like “damn they know their craft” and not mind if they’re rewarding a monster?

Does someone’s overall demeanor impact their standings as an Oscar/Academy winner?

update 2: so the cat i trapped and spayed did in fact have babies

ORIGINAL POST: https://www.reddit.com/r/Feral_Cats/comments/1u9h53p/update_on_kitty_i_trapped_she_is_spayed_vaxxed/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=2&utm_term=1

Yeah so I thought i was preventing a young cat from becoming a mother for life. The vet even said she wasn’t nursing … WRONG.

I went to feed her and noticed she wasn’t moving out from under her hiding spot (in a wall barrier/fence). When she moved her leg … boom! 2 kittens! I started panicking a bit because about a week ago I trapped her to get spayed/vet appt and that meant she was away from her kittens for awhile and I was so so worried that impacted their growth.

I intended to do recon today just to see if I could count the kittens and I got so much more than that. Momma kitten was no where to be seen and they were beginning to explore my backyard. I immediately put food out. Some of them were more suspicious than others but I was able to pick some up. I counted 6 in total.

I called the shelter that helped me with my first trap and explained the situation. I wondered if they’d leave their mom too early but they said this is prob the best chance I’ll get to trap them without high stress levels. I was able to scoop 4/6 kittens. The other 2 were much more suspicious and darted into momma’s hiding spot.

Shelter contact immediately swung by to pick them up and guessed they’re about 5 weeks old. They are now gonna get their shots and vet care.

But the story is she prob gave birth 5 weeks ago, a little after I noticed her in my backyard. I trapped a week ago thinking I was helping a young cat. She got spayed/all the vet care and was released in my backyard 2 days later meaning the kittens were without her for two days.

But now there’s 2 kittens left and the goal is to continue to set traps and see if I can complete the litter.

THANK YOU to Bushwick Street Cats, which helped facilitate all of this and continues to supply constant advice to me!

thank you bushwick street cats

this is the first time i’ve seen my feral backyard cat after i trapped her. bushwick street cats brought her to/from the vet and covered the entire experience. she’s vaccinated, de-fleaed, de-wormed, spayed, and i’m glad to see she’s not scared of my backyard after her being trapped. just wanted to give the org a shoutout if you’re looking to donate to a place in our community! they are constantly trying to help the feral cat crisis

if you adopt one of OG’s selected cats (2 out of 5 still adoptable), you will receive a years’ worth of food & vet care

OG chose 5 cats available for adoption at ACC, and if you adopt one of them you’ll receive a free year of cat food and vet care!! Sammy and Roxie (pics below) are still available to adopt as of 7 hours ago tho may have changed since then. Just want to spread the word!

update on kitty i trapped: she is spayed, vaxxed, and freed!

i posted about my first ever feral that i captured a few days ago. an awesome cat trap org picked her up and transported her to the vet. we found out she’s a girl, probably about a year old. she is now vaccinated, de-wormed, de-fleaed, and spayed!!! she is VERY MUCH feral though (she was called wild, mega-aggro, extremely stressed near people). the org does try to test and see if ferals can be homed or warmed up to humans but she was a strong NO. so we trapped, spayed, and now released! i’m staying at this apartment for another year so i will continue to leave food out for her but so good to know she won’t continue the cycle and we can end a growing colony here. there is another cat that visits my yard, just much more infrequently (this girl came every night for food) so i’m going to see if i can try and coax him to come more and trap him for another TNR.

Trapped my first feral for TNR!

A blanket went on right after I went outside to ease her stress but WOOO!! I’ve been feeding this cat for about 2-3 weeks. She visited right on the dot every evening and a friend lent a trap. Started trap training her and she’s now been picked up by a lovely organization that is bringing her to the vet to get TNRed. (Though she might be a he, who knows!)

I rescued a cat off the street once but the cat was very friendly and able to get adopted out. This is my first feral I’m able to help. We already have so many kitties in NYC and shelters are overwhelmed so I’m glad to get this one treated, vaxxed, and checked out. ❤️
