Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 encourages a break sometimes...

I think I'd want a nap as well having bailed these gaps so many times in two minutes!

Nightmare fuel Niece birthday card for sale in a local supermarket

What even is this? Calling a niece a gremlin perhaps? Why is there senseless white dust under the *cough* Creature's left ear? How does anyone think a spoon with such a long stem is necessary for that... errr... Dessert? Hot Chocolate?

Well the obvious answer is Ai slop, and they have the effrontery, the bare-faced cheek, to charge £1:50 for it!

Hazard Perception Tests videos are infuriating

I really don't like these as they often punish being aware of a hazard. One of the videos takes place on a country road with a temporary sign in the road to pass on the right.

Upon seeing this and being reasonably close, I click because of the fact it narrows my side of the road, meaning I will have to encroach oncoming lane to pass it.

I get a zero, yet one second later, with no traffic in shot, no pedestrians, no animals, no meteorites, no plague of locusts, no horsemen of apocalypse... It is a five? How has the hazard developed any differently?

Is there an opt out for games advertising on welcome screen?

Even if purely to dismiss a specific game? I didn't appreciate my welcome screen being dominated by GTA VI when I have had no interest in the series for some time.

This has happened before with other titles so want to see anyway to cut this down in the future.

Entitled bar customer treats a non-trans/LGBTQ+ person to transphobic/homophobic harrassment

This past weekend I attended an anime convention in the UK. As a cosplayer, I am often seen wearing attire which is much more exuberant than average street clothing. Conventions are fabulous spaces for this as one can never be too overdressed.

However, while not a part of the event itself–I experienced transphobic comments while not being trans in any manner.

For some background, I attended the third day dressed as the anime/video game character Takami Chika from Love Live Sunshine. To be specific, her costume from the animated music video Koi ni Naritai Aquarium.

At six feet & one inch in height, and around 97 kilograms in mass, I am not what could be referred to as a bodytype anywhere close to the source material.

Still, I wore the orange wig, squeezed into the glitter encrusted basque, which was tighter than a Conservative government’s budget; and held up the very oversized skirt via around a dozen safety pins with gusto.

Reaction at the con was fabulous, lots of compliments, requests for photos and hyper focused chatter on the franchise. Though by the third day, my friends and I needed a break.

Thus, we went to a bar which is part of the wider venue. Our intentions? Order food, drinks and play board/card games.

Said goal began beyond fine, staff were pliable, we were left in peace and found ourselves asking questions of the rules for games on the list.

Enter the moron who had a problem. While we were in the third scenario of a game - “ SAO: Sword of Fellows” for those curious - the intolerant git gets in close stuff like: -

“Are you fucking blokes? What the fuck are you dressed as? Are you fucking crazy? Who the fuck are you kidding?”

All sorts of shit I am basically giggling in character at, in order to kill him with kindness…

Yeah, that didn’t work. He goes on about how us lot need sorting, how there are kids around, how I’m disturbing the atmosphere.

Not sure how an idol costume would ever do this, but you tell me I guess. This second time I have had enough so I simply ask him why can’t he leave us alone? And what was his problem? Cue loud snorting followed by “you!” Well, reason wasn’t going to work, though my lack of rage meant he sauntered away from the table. When I spot a gap, I got up to go inform bar staff.

What I have since learned, is that when I stood up this individual half-retreated. Appears that my non-canon size may have been intimidating. Or my cuteness…

No. I’m not fooling anyone there.

From the sanctuary of distance, this loser keeps it up. Choosing the strategy of ranting at a family, saying how I shouldn’t be around them and their kids, urging everyone to look and stare at a disgusting person who's all that's wrong with the country.

Yeah, nice try, but said family wanted no part of it. At this point, I’ve informed staff and security arrives. All I hear next is:-

“You’re fucking serious? I’ve got to go and not this *redacted homophobic language*.” Followed by shouting at the staff for not sticking up for real people, and letting others cause a scene.

Bear in mind, I was there for food, drinks and some games with mates over casual conversation. Unsure how that causes a scene. (Except Monopoly, that always causes a scene)

Security were not letting this stand and the moron was bounced out. Following this staff were very apologetic and thanked my table for not rising to his bait.

End of this was a successful clearing of our game and some grub way better than expected.

This sort of abuse is unacceptable. No matter who is under the costume, treat everybody with respect. If you’re a trans/homophobe… Get help, yesterday.
