Saw this post and it really gets me enraged that men think they have a say in something they don't even have to go through
What genuinely enrages me about this conversation is the sheer audacity of men acting as though they get a say in whether women should want children when they are not the ones who have to go through pregnancy. A woman is the one who carries a pregnancy for nine months, enduring enormous physical, mental, and emotional strain, along with real health risks that can sometimes become life-threatening. So yes, it is completely understandable that a younger generation of women might look at all of that and decide that pregnancy and motherhood simply aren't for them. And instead of asking why so many women are becoming reluctant to have children, people jump straight to calling childlessness some kind of “evil ideology” or warning that women are supposedly promoting human extinction. Maybe stop policing women's choices and start asking what kind of world you're expecting them to bring children into. When was the last time these people put the same energy into demanding safer societies for women, better healthcare, protection from abuse, reproductive autonomy, economic security, or an environment where women could genuinely feel safe and supported enough to want children? Women aren't obligated to sacrifice their bodies and lives to solve humanity's demographic problems. If you're genuinely concerned about humanity's future, then build a world where women aren't punished, abused, stripped of their rights, or pressured into motherhood, and let women decide for themselves whether they want to bring another human being into it. Calling women selfish or evil for putting their own lives and wellbeing first is the exact problem why women no longer want to have kids with men like these.
