This Phone Looks So Damn Good

I picked up this 4a Pro to test a Glyph Matrix app I'm building and sheesh, I might swap out my NP3 and make this my daily driver. It's surprisingly nice, especially for the price. Plus it's one of Nothing's best designs imo

Long shot, but does anyone in the area own a Nothing Phone (4a) Pro? Needed for testing. 1-2 hrs. Paid.

Hey y'all! I'm developing a very niche app for the Nothing Phones and I'd love to get my hands on a 4a Pro to run some tests and polish a few things.

If you're in the area and can meet up with me at a public location that's convenient for you, I'd be willing to pay you $50 for your time.

I got bored with the default Glyph clock face, so I made over 50 of my own with an app to go with it. Join the Glyphtick closed beta now!

Hey y'all!

I'm Stetson. I'm a career brand and UI designer, and I always thought the default Glyph Toys needed more personality. Especially the clock.

I've been building Glyphtick over the past couple of months. It includes 50+ clock face designs for the Nothing Phone (3) and (4a) Pro. Every numeral set and face arrangement was custom-designed by me.

What Glyphtick does:

  • Adds a Glyph Toy that can be controlled via the Glyphtick app.
  • Gives you a bunch of well-designed clock faces to choose from and swap out at any time.
  • The Phone (3) version of the app includes analog clock faces and overlays for battery and weather. Long press once for battery, twice for weather.

It's far enough along now that I'm actively looking for Phone (3) and Phone (4a) Pro owners to beta test it before pushing toward a full release in a month or so.

On pricing: Glyphtick is free and useful. The Phone (3) version includes the battery and weather overlays at no cost. (They're not on the (4a) Pro simply because that hardware doesn't support them. It's not a paywall. If it were supported, it'd be there too.). There will, however, be an optional, one-time premium upgrade that unlocks the full clock-face catalog: $4.99 on Phone (3) and $2.99 on (4a) Pro. The (4a) Pro is cheaper because its smaller display means a more limited catalog, so it felt wrong to charge the same.

If you're interested in beta testing:

  1. Fill out the quick form here. It just confirms your device and the email you use for Play Store.
  2. You'll get a Discord invite to the Glyphtick Community server (updates, bug reports, feature requests) and be automatically assigned the Beta Tester role.
  3. Once I add your email to the tester list, you'll get an email with an access link. Play Store access usually activates within a few hours of receiving the email.

Testing runs two weeks minimum per individual, meaning you'll need to keep Glyphtick installed and actually use it across 14 days starting when you download it. This is a Google requirement for new developer accounts. They require an active closed test before I can apply for production release.

Not testing, or don't have one of the two devices? You're still welcome to join the Discord here for updates and discussion.

Thanks, y'all!

This is my first Android app, so I greatly appreciate anyone willing to poke at it and tell me what's broken. Happy to answer any questions!

Looking for a US-based 4a Pro User for App Testing

I'm wrapping up an app that utilizes the glyph matrix of both the NP3 and the 4a Pro. I've been able to test the NP3 side, but I need someone with a 4a Pro to make sure everything is looking good on device.

I'll pay you $50 USD for your time and findings.

Expansion Card Empty Shells?

I want to take on a personal project to place the internals of the new Steam Controller puck into an expansion card shell.

Ideally, it'd be the ones that they use for storage expansions (i.e. no input port).

Does anyone know if FW has plans to sell those? I see that they're planning on selling 20 packs of some botched DP expansion cards, but I'd much prefer the closed one.

I may just buy the 250gb expansion just for the shell if I have to, but I'd rather not.

As a second best option, anyone know where I can find the CAD files so I can print my own shell?

Appreciate y'all's help

Western US.

My order went through after the estimated shipping time went from 3 to 5 days, to 6 to 10 days, to "may experience delays due to high order volume"

I was pleasantly surprised when I got the tracking info so quickly. I thought it might give hope to those like me who are constantly refreshing their order page!
