Sonic is far more intrinsically connected with wind. He's fast and smooth like wind. He's freedom personified! He's always out and about, going wherever the fuck he wants! The wind is Sonic. Sonic is the wind. Naruto is a tornado that tears up your neighborhood.
Since when has Sonic even remotely like lighting? Hell no. Not to mention it doesn't even reflect his personality or anything about his character at all.
