All they literally have to do is lock/flag their accounts as NSFW to avoid this lmao

All they literally have to do is lock/flag their accounts as NSFW to avoid this lmao

That or move to a porn site?? Like I know the point is that a majority of these people are deranged enough to either think their kinks are an inherent part of them (and somehow not nsfw) or they get off to exposing non-consenting people to NSFW but seriously; the "bans" they freak out about are only happening because they directly tag their fetish porn with tags associated with children's content which WILL show up in a search/recommended section because they DIRECTLY tag it as such!

"If your interest is little girls...." Instagram connected teens with predators & more from New Mexico's lawsuit against Meta

So New Mexico filed a lawsuit against Meta a few years ago and the results of that lawsuit have been published. Meta will need to pay around $570 million to affected victims among other remedies.
The fact finding & other details noted in the lawsuit pointed out how Meta's Instagram was contributing to the mental health crisis in New Mexico; of note to this group is more than likely going to be section "F. Meta’s engagement features encourage and facilitate problematic interactions between adults and children."

You know how people on here keep pointing out how they see grooming content like videos of teenagers dancing with their """older""" boyfriends? Especially if they have kids? Instagram's recommendation features enabled that.

Partial copy/paste

>When a user engages with accounts held by children under the age of 18, the company’s algorithms recommend more accounts held by children under the age of 18 and similar content to that user. For example, Meta conducted internal tests in June 2019 which found that “[u]sers that follow minors’ accounts will be recommended similar accounts as well as photos of teens in explore.” [Pl. Ex. 01730 at 4] The June 2019 internal document assessed inappropriate interactions with children on Instagram, and reported that “26% of the people we recommend to Groomers were Teens.” [Pl. Ex. 1730 at 3] In an internal chat from October 2020, a Meta employee stated that the feature “[People You May Know] was responsible for 80% of violating adult/minor connections.” [Pl. Ex. 00248 at 2]

80%....But people will say this is not a major problem and the solution is to helicopter Mom kids...
Meta is literally called a "public nuisance" in the statement; which is way too nice of a way to describe this company.

[META] Add "no FOMO posting" to rules

(FOMO = Fear Of Missing Out)

I understand people are concerned about the availability of PS5 games due to Sony's announcement, but these posts do nothing but encourage resellers and unhealthy hoarding of games.

The only time I have heard of Jump Force mentioned in years and it's people on this sub trying to FOMO people into buying up copies and "me caveman digital bad" shit posting.

Can we add this to the rules on here? They contribute nothing to the conversations here.

Their need to soft defend kink/porn

For context, this was a review of a video game that had NSFW content removed in future versions. The reviewer was comparing the NSFW content to the edited versions.
While they overall agreed that the original NSFW content was poorly written and the edited versions were better, it was followed up with this comment.

It got me thinking about how "pro porn/kink" people are incapable of criticizing kink/porn without outright defending it's "right to exist" in some shape or form. Criticism seems to be a "touchy" subject to them; criticise too much and they'll be questioned if they are a ""puritan"", "just block if you don't like", etc.

This was seen in another post on here where apparently it's hard to criticize why werewolf erotic slop is so badly written 🤣 they tie themselves into so many knots to avoid just saying "bro this sucks" incase werewolffucker69 comes after them.

Zip will be a payment option exclusive to the app starting July 9th

Copy of the email for those who cannot load the image for whatever reason

"Hi username,

Starting July 9, Zip will no longer be a payment option on mercari.com. You'll still be able to pay with Zip in the Mercari app.

To keep using Zip: Get the Mercari app or open it if you already have it installed. Your account works the same.

Any Zip installments you're already paying off are unaffected."

Can someone make a legitimate competitor to this crappy company already? Ebay and so many others are honestly just as bad if not worse.

Nobody's going to the (porn) rapture

Kinksters love to believe that they are practicing some sort of liberated form of sex. They will preach about how their deviance is interconnected with minority groups such as LGBT people citing falsified history of leather clad males running the show (sometimes they'll add random trans people for the unicorn hunters). Everyone claiming their community is harmful, including LGBT people and kink victims are the real conservatives to them; in their minds they are constantly vilanized and opressed.

There have been multiple conversations on here about how kinksters are the real conservatives here; all the way down to having their own form of religion in a man's orgasm being the one true virtue they all abide by.

Their constant religious catastrophizing about porn bans is akin to End of World times predictions; to be a part of kink communities you must believe that the puritans and their conservative politician overlords are trying to erase your existence just like the gays. Europe had the audacity to ban incest & strangulation porn and they were absolutely livid. How dare they ban a form of pornography that was encouraging men to strangle women to the point stats are showing an increase in women under 40 having strokes?

Even common sense bans, such as AI generated porn fakes of people are decried as the next step to banning two men kissing in public. Anything that might make it illegal for a man to orgasm is considered evil to them.

The (sad) reality is that the massive porn bans they cry over is not happening. Even the most hardcore conservatives are not interested in pushing a complete porn ban; porn is a useful tool of patriarchy that they also utilize. It gives them something to blame sexuality related problems on. They can use the women in porn as an example to be made of to women who aren't good wives. Conservative women can and also do the same; with the double whammy of not realizing their husbands are the ones visiting the "flithy whores" and propping up the industry in the first place.

Even the whole "LGBT content getting censored" is a bastardized concern from them as their concept of "LGBT content" includes furry porn, corrective raping women (as a kink of course! :3 ), and all sorts of things that should be banned in the first place, as they are akin to CP and other such already banned content.

I cannot imagine wasting so much energy over something not happening; but then again I'm not in a cult 💁‍♀️

On a post where a minor was shocked to find porn of a children's cartoon character

The character in question is a ghost cat (no seriously) fyi.

I know this isn't the most egregious comment ever but their gatekeeping of the internet as if it is nothing more than a dumping ground for porn that everyone must be excluded from or forced to be exposed to is disgusting.

The post didn't even mention where the user (whom we can assume is a minor) found it. You don't even have to look up porn to be exposed to it anymore and it's understandable a child would feel awful coming across it. The same can be said for adults; especially for characters where R34ing them is a specific level of disgusting.

They just love being unsympathetic to literal children then pull a surprised pikachu face when the kid's safety bills come out.

We need to talk about rape culture again

We're dealing with nonsense such as rape kinks being "empowerment" to victims, BSDM, kink, etc. Porn has influenced massive amounts of people into thinking that sex is nothing more than the most violent acts you could think of.
It dawned on me yesterday that this was all encompassed under a specific concept I have not heard lately; rape culture.

If you haven't heard of the term, a short summary of it is;

>Rape culture is a culture where sexual violence and abuse is normalised and played down. Where it is accepted, excused, laughed off or not challenged enough by society as a whole.

source

....sound familiar? All of this garbage is rebranded cherry flavored poison.

I know that in feminist circles talking about it hasn't really fallen off; but with the rise of CNC/SA "kink"/proshipper garbage, #metoo no longer being in the public conscience etc now seems like a good time to bring that concept back into the public sphere again.
