Broken persona check

I got asked to do some additional verification on the site and attempted to upload my passport three times. Each time it said something along the lines of "could not read the image" then said "verification failed, contact support".

Immediately afterwards, I got an email saying:

"Hi,

We are writing to inform you that you have been removed from the Alignerr program.

Please note that this decision is final, and we will not be reviewing requests for reinstatement.

Thank you for your time and participation in the program.

Best,
The Alignerr Team"

Has anybody else had this? it seems like quite an extreme response to the AI not being able to read my passport.

Is this a wind up?

I made an order on Deliveroo, it was missing items and they decided instead to stuff the only bag full of 100s of vouchers that expire in a few days. Theres more than it appears in the photo, I don’t have enough room to unstack them it’s like 10 more layers deep.

Apart from the presumed lack of hygiene from the food touching them it’s basically fly tipping at this point?

it’s a mockery even, giving me loads of nearly expired vouchers.

Does anybody have ideas what I can do with these? It might make nice wallpaper. Throw a party and hand them out? or keep my new fortune a secret.

Can anybody relate?

I've always enjoyed a drink but very much in the same way a lot of people from the UK (and I assume Ireland, Australia etc.) do. Back in university I did a lot of partying, during COVID lockdown I also did drink a good amount. Since I started working full time 4 years ago I became way more sensible about it, never turned up to work hungover, stopped going to nightclubs but still had good times on holidays and such. On Friday or Saturday I might have got involved.

Now I'm 28 and I've had pancreatitis twice in the past 8 months. The doctors say it's due to drinking because I tell them I had 4 drinks several days before turning up to A&E. "Alcoholic pancreatitis". They treat me like some absolute degenerate because I don't have gallstones or anything.

I respect that a lot of people here have had the same thing through no fault of their own. It does feel very isolating though when people my age drink all weekend, or on weekdays regularly. I know people who are unemployed who just do it every night and they're fine.

I suppose I just want to vent or hear from similar people really. I haven't told anybody I know, including work. They would associate it with polishing off a bottle of JD every night for 10 years. Not that I would judge that either or anything else really.

There's also the worry that it might just be happening by itself and it will get worse. Sometimes I have strange pains and an upset stomach for seemingly no reason.

Micro1 certified

I've been Micro1 certified as a Lead AI/ML Engineer. What does this mean in real terms in regards to being accepted for work?

I only got 15 minutes for the coding challenge so I didn't have time to build a production ready pipeline or anything close to it. Is it difficult to get the certificate or do they just send it loads of people? I've passed the ID verification etc.

I've been burned by platforms just certifying me for stuff with AI interviews and never getting back so I was wondering what the success rate is from here, does anyone have similar experiences so I can work if if its worth going ahead?

Banned - Outlier should improve it's onboarding and UX

I'm not posting to complain about being banned, more about slightly deceptive outreach and time wasting. I think the whole application and onboarding process should be much clearer. I currently work as a lead AI engineer and I've been gradually applying for jobs and looking for my next position. As a result, I've been getting sponsored messages and messages from recruiters, a lot of them are spam.

The other day I got another one of those messages from Outlier, a company I have never heard of before, and the message made it sound like a developer position. I won't post the entire thing, but it said:

"We're looking for developers who:

• Are currently building, playing, or working with Openclaw

• Have experience with AI agents or agent frameworks

• Write Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or similar"

I was apprehensive at first but when I clicked the link, I was moved onto a process which consisted of watching 20 minute long videos, so I started taking notes and writing my thoughts on the concepts being presented. I mostly answered from memory but I was also breaking down problems in notepad and copy pasting from there. This would probably be obvious if an actual person looked at it. About 3 hours in, I was removed from everything and I can only see earnings.

Now I've looked into it more I quite like the idea, but please make it clear what the job is meant to be (when targeting software developers), and improve the UX so it's clear. A lot of sites block right click. This would solve a lot of problems because if someone was copy pasting they are clearly circumventing the intended process. As opposed to using something built in to every web browser.
