What are some salty foods you put in your yogurt bowls?

I have my go-to yogurt bowl, but it basically has no sodium and I want to supplement my breakfast with something salty but don’t want to go high in other macros (protein and fat are already covered well). I tried putting in table salt but that gives it a savory flavor I’m not necessarily looking for here.

Y’all are very talented and driven, but what you need is some luck

Mad props to everyone here and all of the people who are inspired by an idea, a drive, a goal. I love it, I absolutely do. It screams innovation, risk taking, a leap into the unknown- you all are doing fantastic and I’m really proud of you trying to build something for others.

I think we fall into a bit of an echo chamber though. I see a lot of similar ideas or ideas that I immediately think “that won’t work out” (some of my own are in that category too). If we look at the economy, times are rough right now. I know myself I don’t want to be spending money on things I don’t need to be spending on, yet the validation that we all need as builders and founders is that sale that people are willing to trade their money with something we have made that brings them value. That’s extra special, at least right now in my opinion. It feels like climbing up hill. The positive feedback are from people like us, supporting our ideas, but what we need is from external people. So, what do we do?

Ads. UGC. Fliers. Yard signs. Expos. Word of mouth.

The more I read and spend times in these groups, the more it rings true; “you need to find market validation.” Yet at the same time, I instantly tune out at anyone trying to sell me something. It’s a curious paradox. We want our ideas to succeed, yet (at least in my case) we try to avoid spending money at all. That’s why I suppose most small businesses fail. There’s not enough free capital to support more projects like ours, which leaves us only money for the necessities that we need.

Is our pursuit meant to return profits? Some might get lucky, but I think what helps is targeting people who have money to spend. Build for the rich. Also, luck can help too. Form connections and maybe in the future they will turn into something. Stay consistent and eventually that gets you better odds than someone who doesn’t stick it out for the long haul.

Wishing you all luck in this journey! Let’s find success for our ideas!

Would you pay $10 for website feedback?

More than just “site works” or “the page loads slow”, but actual real feedback that drives into common UI or UX issues that is thoughtful and purposeful.

I see competitors are offering feedback at $45/55/99 and want to see if there’s space in this market.

Where do you go to get competitor feedback?

Obviously, you do a Google search first and find user content on social platforms, but if there’s nothing available, posting on Reddit is always an option. But - what if the subreddits have rules where there is no market research allowed? Have you used feedback sites or had success in offering paid surveys, what platforms work for you?

I appreciate the insight!

Help me validate the best business model I should use.

I created an Etsy shop with a product that is getting no sales, and I confirmed the product is too expensive and the DIY route is likely what people would choose to do instead of buying my product.

My question is, I have a website tool to design this product, so I’m looking for feedback on alternatives of how I can monetize this product (which is a recipe card, so think cooking in the kitchen and family recipes). I have a few ideas:

  1. Make all of the features free and available to the public, but put ads on the website.
  2. Make all of the features free and available to the public, but add a donate button for people to donate to me.
  3. Make all of the features free and available to the public, but charge $1 per card for the digital file they can print and DIY as they’d like.

Of these three options, I’m leaning to option 1, but wanted to ask for more feedback from users. - I can give you feedback for your business ideas too if you want to reply or you can DM me as well.

Have you found success offering a free web product but placing ads on the webpage?

I had some hard market feedback on a product I’m trying to sell- no one was interested because the COGS was over what the market wanted to tolerate for price. I can pivot and make the tool free on a webpage, but then try supplementing it by placing ads on the webpage instead, or that’s my next idea.

Has anyone found success offering a product with a similar strategy? I’d love to hear your story.

Looking for a shop critique, Sunny Shores Creative

I’m looking for a shop critique, I’ll happily critique your shop too, feel free to reach out with your shop or listing you want me to review.

  1. https://www.etsy.com/listing/1860538818/custom-laminated-recipe-card?ref=elp\_anchor\_listing

- Do you buy finished (ie. Laminated products) off of Etsy, or would an unlaminated product be more appealing to you?
- How much would you spend for 4 laminated recipe cards off of Etsy?

  1. This product is a product I’ve iterated over the course of many years. My first iteration was for a gift to remember a meal. I had a crude process that could design a card, but the options for customizations were very limited. Years pass and then I went back to my editor and and added more colors and styles because I needed another recipe card printed as a gift. Now in 2026 I wanted to try to sell this on Etsy so here I am with a new process that gives me even more customization than before.

What I found in my Etsy research is that a lot of people sell blank recipe cards, or ones that take handwritten text. I didn’t see any printed or full recipe cards in search listings which made me feel there was a market to sell on Etsy.

I also learned from the Etsy Seller Handbook that it’s good to promote our shops with custom graphics. I found a great artist that made mine and I’m really happy with it!

(Yes I do know the listing images need work too, I’m in the process of making them look more professional)

Lamination costs is making my product unaffordable to sell

I use FedEx to laminate printed recipe cards I sell on Etsy, and I was making some sample orders for better product images, and the cost for the same order from a few months ago is almost double! I hardly had any margin as-is, this isn’t sustainable for me. I’m going to try to change the card stock as that’s still more, but not as much as lamination.

Shame, it goes to show you how susceptible small business owners are to price fluctuations. Hope you all are doing okay out there.

For any of you that use lamination in your product, do you go to shops and have it done for you, or have you brought it in house?

I turned my mom’s handwritten recipes into printable cards my kids will actually keep

My recipes are scattered across notes, scribbled sheets of paper, and the good ‘ol noggin. I wanted to make these recipes last in the kitchen (from the cup of milk that spilled or cloud of flour while making the pizza).

I created an online recipe card editor and now, it’s very easy to create something that looks good and will last in the kitchen. It’s got lots of features:

- Customizable sizes- 3”x5”, 4”x6” or 5”x8”, it does it all!
- No account required- no sign in required, everything is quick to use!
- Free to create- You don’t have to pay a dime to create one of these printable recipe cards.
- Premium design options- are available if you’d like to style your recipe card (and support my small business).
- Track your macros- and meet your goals by listing what macros each recipe has.
- Works on mobile devices- create your recipe cards on the go.
- No AI- everything is curated by hand, enjoy a well-crafted experience in our editor!

Come check it out today!

If you enjoyed cooking, what feature would you like to see for an online recipe card editor

I’m currently building one, and it has loads of features. I’m looking for additional feature ideas people would find useful in order to add it to the app. So far it has:

-Print custom dimensions (3”x5”, 4”x6”, 5”x8”)
-Print custom paper sizes (letter, tabloid, etc)
-Save/open feature
-Create PDFs of recipe cards
-Recipe attributes
-Allergen information of recipes
-Thousands of designs
-Choice of fonts
-Macronutirients
-Can scale recipes up or down
-Toggle between metric and imperial measurements
-Load sample recipe
-Preview of recipe card

Anything else you would find valuable in it?

I’m providing 15+ minutes free of website feedback to you

Hello people,

I’d like to give you 15+ minutes of website feedback to you for your websites. No rules or stipulations, except I’ll not review adult websites nor submit my payment details if your website is a store or requires a subscription. Give me the url and some things you’d like feedback on.

In return, I’d like to ask if you could give me feedback on my online recipe card editor: https://www.sunnyshorescreative.com/recipe-card-editor

I’m looking for first impressions, did anything cause you friction, features you’d like to see if you used the website? I spent some time cleaning up what I had and made a better landing page and mobile experience. Let’s help each other out!

I’ll test your website for 15 minutes and give you feedback

I ask that you give me 15 minutes of your time to do the same for me.

I’ll give you initial thoughts, impressions, usability, and other helpful advice as a first user to your experience or project. I tend to be thoughtful and write up information that’s not half-baked; I notice a lot of details and feel I can put into words clear details so my feedback will be valuable to you.

For those giving feedback on my project (https://www.sunnyshorescreative.com/recipe-card-editor), I’d like to ask you:

- Do you find it useful?
- Any usability issues?
- What is one improvement the site could have?
- Do you notice any friction while using the site?
- Other thoughts?

I recently finished the design and layout of this page on mobile, and feel it’s in a good state for public consumption. So I wanted to get more eyes on this besides my own which has been looking at this for weeks now.

Do you like to cook and find this free resource helpful?

If you are a chef or home cook that follows recipes, would you enjoy or benefit from using a free online recipe editor?

Trying to see where the people who would benefit from this tool are.

Do you find success in offering a limited version of your product for free?

Not linking any site because that’s against the rules.

I’m trying to market and gain audience visibility, but am having hard time gaining market traction and think that offering my product in a limited but still usable form will drive traffic and growth. Has anyone tried this and was successful with it?

Free online recipe card editor

Hello all,

This is my first time posting in this subreddit, so if you’ve seen this link I’m about to share, it wasn’t me before!

I made this tool for my small business and want to share it with the public because I feel everyone should have access to a quality tool to generate recipe cards if they wish.

Im planning on more cool features, but this is what the website has today.

Features:

• Creates printable files for recipe cards of any size (although 3”x5”, 4”x6” and 5”x7” should work)
• Can print on different sized papers (should work internationally where you may live)
• Allows you to give your card a title and description
• Allows to denote prep, cook time and number of servings
• Can scale up or down the recipe ingredients easily
• Can list common allergens a recipe has
• Many backgrounds to choose from
• Can change font designs
• Has support for macros

And some tips if you are using it…

• Be sure to go into Settings > update your monitor diagonal right away, otherwise printing may not work
• Keep browser zoom at 100%
• Only desktop for now, mobile will come eventually

Thanks everyone and I hope you have a great day!

Free recipe card editor online, please test this and give me some feedback

I’ve been working hard on this- a free recipe card editor for you to use.

This is still in alpha as I gather feedback. Some features will be gated in order to eventually drive traffic to my Etsy store but before we hit a v1 release, all features will be available for testing.
