hi guys! i’m a 24 year old woman planning a solo trip to Portugal in the beginning of September and I’m looking for some advice. here’s my loose plan right now but looking for any recommendations/changes. i’m open to anything! I love hiking, meeting new people, trying local food, adventure things in general. really not opposed to anything! i’m also planning to stay in hostels so any recs of those would be perfect. This will be my first time staying in hostels so i’d love a social one where I could meet other people!

days 1-5 - Lisbon
day 1 - arrive and explore Lisbon
day 2 - explore Lisbon
day 3- day trip to Sintra?
day 4- see Belem
day 5- maybe day trip to Cascais?

days 6-9: Lagos

Not a lot of plans yet but definitely want to do some hiking. I’ve heard Porto Da Cruz is cool
also heard that I should do the highest zipline in Europe with Adrenaline Adventure?

also to see Livraria Lello?

i’m a 23 year old girl and recently moved to the somerville/cambridge area a week ago. I want to go out tonight to some bars to dance/make new friends! they look nuts with the world cup activities going on. I would love to get a group together of people similar to my age to meet up! lmk if anyone is interested!

hey! i just started my first travel nurse contract and I got my first schedule. I was told every other weekend (saturday/sunday) which is totally fine with me and I agreed to that. my only problem is that every single weekend i’m not on for the weekend im on friday. I know that day shift doesn’t consider friday a weekend or anything but it’s a little annoying to be on every friday because I live an hour away from the hospital (my choice, i’m aware of this) but anyway, I was wondering what you guys would recommend? I was going to ask if they could move 1 or 2 fridays to a different day in the week. or is that a bad look? should I wait a few weeks till i’m more established? I don’t want to be annoying and do want to be helpful and it’s not the biggest deal in the world but it would just be nice. mostly because I have long distance friends that I like visiting for long weekends or they visit me. give me your honest opinion! thanks!

me and my friends were planning to go to flynn’s for the big MDW dance party on sunday but we’re stupid and didn’t buy tix in time. we saw that the sandbar in ocean beach also has an event going on that sunday! has anyone ever been and know if it’s fun? we’re all 23-25 and just looking to dance and have fun :)

hey! i’m a 23 year old travel nurse and just got my first assignment in MA in Gardner. I didn’t accept it yet. from what i’ve read, Gardner is definitely not really my vibe (small town, not much going on). I’m a very social person, single, and love to go out and have fun and meet people. I also love music and art. I’ve read and heard a lot of good things about Somerville so I’m wondering if a commute would be worth it? If not, are there other towns near Gardner closer ish that are fun and social? Or should I just keep looking for another assignment closer?

**also, just to add. I grew up in new york so i’m no stranger to traffic and I did used to commute an hour after night shifts so i’m not a stranger to commuting either!

hi! I recently started looking for travel nurse assignments in California, Illinois, and Massachusetts. I’ve only gotten one offer so far after about a month of looking and it was for an extremely low paying night shift position. I have almost 2 years med/surg tele experience but no travel experience, which seems to be the main deterrent. I don’t know if I should just give up at this point. I’m staying with my parents because my lease ended a few weeks ago but I was hoping to already have an assignment lined up. I don’t know if I should just give up and go and find a sublease somewhere and then try again in a few months because maybe the jobs are just bad right now? I don’t know. I feel so in limbo right now and it’s so stressful. This is genuinely all I think about. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I chose to do this with the intention of seeing more of the world while i’m young (23) and traveling to different places in between contracts. But it seems to be giving me more stress than anything else. I just wish I knew what was to come with all of this.
