Fun but budget friendly things to do in Sydney before classes start

Landing in Sydney next week so I have roughly 2 weeks before orientation & classes start. Need recommendations from locals and fellow students for places to visit, and eat since I don't want to go broke before uni even starts lol.

I've seen a few recommendations on instagram, but does anyone have any itinerary or plans that could help me?

Fyi, I've already done the ferry from circular quay to manly beach, and those tourist bus tours when I visited back in 2024, so now I'd like to do more interesting stuff and find hidden gems if possible while still saving money :D

What's this light?

Saw this pink light in the horizon to east, over the city, at 6:50pm today for a good five minutes. Any idea what that was?

Taken from Olympic Park so the light was to the east

Samsung S25 or Xiaomi 17T ?

Hello,

I want to finalise my new phone and buy it within this week. I've narrowed down my options to a samsung s25 & xiaomi 17T based on the camera & video quality, as well as overall feel but I still can't decide which to go for.

Currently I use a Mi 10i since 2021, and it has no issues other than a little bad camera quality especially if it's dark, and lags a little even though it's barely 60% full ~65/128gb). Now I want to switch since it's been a few years and I'm moving countries.

I can get both for almost the same price .i.e., ₹59k, so price isn't the issue. Please suggest your thoughts. I want to start posting on Instagram with day-to-day videos so I really need a good camera phone which doesn't keep dying easily.

I've also read through this comparison chart and tested out the models in person, but I still want reviews from others who may have bought it awhile back

Thanks in advance :D

IT elective recommendations

About to join UTS in the spring intake for Master of IT (extension) course and I'm currently planning my courses for it.

For context, I'll be majoring in data analytics & my sub major will be interactive media.

Question: for the CBK91045 Choice(IT) electives, what would be a good/useful course if I'm trying to work in the design & ui/ux field? I've already selected Fundamentals of interaction design & advanced interaction design as my sub-major electives. Looking for something else to learn new stuff that also helps in this field.

I don't want to select any ML/DS/AI course because I've covered majority of it in my undergrad & would much rather focus on the design section.

Would love any suggestions!

Need new phone suggestions

Currently I have an mi10i which has been working just fine but since it's been 5+ years, it lags...so I want to buy a new phone.

For context, I'm moving to Australia for masters in July so this is a great time to switch phones. I want one which has good camera quality, so I thought of iphone but iphones have issues with battery, storage, and other things. I've heard Samsung phones are good so I'm looking into the galaxy a56/57 & s24 fe. My sister uses Nothing, and I liked it's 4a version but honestly, don't see a lot of good reviews.

My budget is ₹30-50k at max because I'll be using a little money earned by my internships & a little from my parents, so I don't want to buy something too expensive. Any suggestions? I really want a phone that records good videos, not too saturated or anything because I want to start recording some videos and posting on social media

Reviews on Samsung Galaxy A56 ?

Planning to buy a new phone which is budget-friendly, but also has a good camera. I've heard a lot about it and mostly people are saying it has a great camera for both taking pictures & videos. Is that true ? Any other suggestions within the ₹30-60k range ?
