I live in south africa and ive always wanted a mk2 gti, ive had the mk1 and it was great. My question is does the fuel injection system have any issues? Every mk2 gti i see on marketplace has been converted to a carburettor for some reason?

Just wondering if a faulty speedometer/abs could make my exhaust brake not work it intuitively makes sense to me because i guess my truck doesnt know how fast its going therefore wont use an exhaust brake but i cannot for the life of me find wiring diagrams for this. My original idea was to supply sand and stones on behalf of hardware stores but i discovered its not run by hardwares and more a mafia run thing now you have to pay people to work and stuff like that. I really love the trade, i have been around heavy machinery my whole life because of my familys business. Ive never really encountered a diesel mechanic who gets paid well though thats my biggest issue with it but my experience may be biased towards the people i know so please can someone advise thanks
This might be w reslly stupid post but is my brake booster not missing the whole vacuum reservoir like that black circular box that helps when braking? My truck made a loud sound anytime brakes were pressed and this is what i see when we took it out.
